Well, elf-friends, I've just discovered the "Frieren" manga.
Even if I hate the manga industry that obviously does not allow the artists to truly explore what truly matters, I must admit that this one IS beautiful in many ways, while still being terribly hollow, like most manga.
First, it explores the elfin temporality, when compared to humans' and other races' temporalities. It is the tale of Frieren, a young elf mage lady who reflects upon her past adventures while living new ones, with new companions, developing, somehow, new friendships and new relationships. It is sad, somehow, just like an elf gets sad when slowly realizing that non-elf companions' lives are terribly short ones.
It is an ongoing manga, which means it is currently evolving, and I wish the authors to dig and develop more, with time..

luv that treasure chest nearly chomping on her
For those who know AD&D, it's called a "mimic", a monster imitating the shape of various objects, typically a treasure chest. And since Frieren is a typical AD&D magic-user, she looks for any magical item..
..even - no: mostly silly magic..
..and hence she often falls for such monster-trap. Fortunately, she has some talent at escaping the related dire harm or death.
And she is, in fact, extremely powerful, even moreso that she is able to hide most of her 'mana' (yes: it's that kind of manga, with such non-AD&D notions as 'mana' - *sigh*.. ), which allows her to trick and then to kill demons!
She even has a human female disciple (Fern) who manages to kill demons, as well:
Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

... but you lke it enough to intoduce it here, PC
Only because I am desperately curious, and I hence finally discovered that manga, that many people have been mentioning around me for months.. Some were even enthusiastic enough to qualify it as " a renewal of the fantasy genre "..! I was intrigued. So I read it.
But.. It was only good enough for me to introduce it to you, elf-friends.
However, it lacks depth, the authors obviously were not given the time to explore enough about what it means to be an elf, the world is a caricature of an AD&D world, mingled with such silly notions as 'mana', the 'demons' are pitiful creatures, the other characters are barely worth the time, and so on..

...And demons are very japan-storytelling stuff, it doesn't quite fit our culture. I also think that devil stories don't really appeal to us anymore. Well, not me anyway. But the girl is drawn nice, so, these are beautiful pictures you postet.
