| As an unrepentant lover of the tickle chicken, AKA the therizinosaurus, I couldn't have enjoyed it more. She made it for me.
I definitely think it was a much more fun movie as someone who plays Ark vs just a franchise fan, and my friend who went with me who's also an Arker agreed.
Life finds a way.... and Ark is life. LOL. ___________________________________________________

| I watched it yesterday. I loved it, because dinosaurs. However, (spoiler ahead) - question:
I don't get why Dr Sattler wants to get a DNA sample from the giant locusts created by Monsanto... I mean Biosyn...? What would that prove? The damn things are spreading over several US states in numbers of millions, wouldn't the company just say that the sample came from one of those?

I just rolled with that one, that was probably one of the weaker parts of the movie but was enjoying my yougest's first time to the theater too much to let anything bother me. I did enjoy it all though, and it was good to get to see something on screen for the first time since "Force Awakens" - opinion/answer:
As I recall, the stated reason was roughly "if I get an original sample from the source as witnessed by someone with clout, then it means something..." as it might have held up plot-wise in the 90s when DNA/bioengineering/cloning could be technobabbled to death and the average viewer would be like "oh, well of course", like the way hacking used to be/still is at times handled as a plot device. The knoledge base of such things has risen though, and it does strike a bit as "lazy writer's plot device", if I were to nit pick. I watched too many cinema sins nit picks over the years and finally overfed that beast, and can sit back and enjoy more movies with my brain off these days.
But yeah, since you brought it up, the scenario kind of breaks down now that the in-universe internet could just tear down such "witnessed evidence" as biased lovebirds having each others backs.

- That thing...:
It was kind of a weird plot device because who else is breeding giant bugs? Though really, just engineer onyc... er... giant bats. Problem solved. But overall my friend and I were sitting there going "....it's Rockwell vs Helena and Santiago and.." Because the whole thing felt like the storyline of Ark. Yes, Ark has a storyline. LOL. Just not everybody finds it. But yeah, we kept looking at each other going "This is Ark at least through Extinction. The big new dinos were all our end-game heavies (quetz, theri and giga). We were thrilled to see all our favorite babies in action in the film, and I love how much more love the therizino is getting now. Though that was definitely a level 150 theri against about a level 10 Giga. Also, they had a nice tek shield to keep the fliers in and I'm pretty sure I've built that same tree platform before. Also Wildcard just dropped a new trailer for Ark II, so... good timing. https://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/256891264/movie480_vp9.webm Now if they'll just release the animation...
