| Way back on the original Scroll of Colors I was a much too silent visitor for months - too shy for posting comments, not to mention thinking of my own art thread. I have to thank ElfTanner, who sort of wakened me, for her patience in improving my not existing technical skills of posting pictures. Finally posting my first piece I was quite astonished to hear from Joselle that making collages is an art form - and ... that she liked it! Her's and Allura's encouraging comments made me go on, as well as Willowspring's friendly support. It's long ago now ... but I still remember them thankfully. This first thread on the SoC vanished in a hacker attack. Having lost the nice, encouraging and stimulating comments of all my visitors is the only thing I really regret ... everything else could be rebuilt. Now I will rebuild again because the following one was messed up by a hacker attack again and finally frozen when the Forum on the official EQ page was deactivated . I will bring back what I have, reposting in small groups. The artwork I use for the ornaments is not mine but mostly original EQ art.Elfquest art copyright 2006 Warp Graphics, Inc. | Once upon a time (April 2010) there was a grab bag with the followwing elements:
- internal conflict
- "ya think?"
- love
- someone caught red-handed
- things start to happen
- Crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrazy
It inspired me to write one of my very rare "prose" stories - pretty accurate how my first contact with ElfQuest went. How things started to happen................................................................ *Ya think?* Disaproval. *You are too old for this!**... but ... this cover is too beautiful ...* Once more I had caught myself with a comic book in my hands - this comic book! *The wolf looks fantastic ...**You are an adult, are you?!* Once more I tried to make up my mind - should I really buy it? *Crrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrazy**These figures are so graceful ...* Once more I was too ashamed to pay for it at the cash desk. *... but elves are for children.*The voice of reason (or my shyness) had prevailed over the instinctive wish to possess this album - if only for cover art's sake. I didn't know that it was too late already ... I would return again ... and again ... and finally buy it - read it - fall in love forever. ......................................................................................... | I remember I've accepted requests ... maybe I can come back to those ideas: for Golden: Make me a collage for this poem, please?1. for Kindredsoul: an "anything" about Cutter - done -2. for Kindredsoul: a Cutter-Rayek-relationship developement 3. for Icemoon: an "anything" about Clearbrook - done -4. for Icemoon: ... something about Moonshade ... 5. for Stargazer: a Skywise one (loosing wolfblood /becoming Master of the Palace) ... I don't promise to be fast ...

| Awww... *feels warm and fuzzy and loved* Thank you so much for the dear welcome and loving support. *hugs* I was lucky to find a way to tickle my creativity besides various sorts of crafts work, Kin. I never was patient enough to train my drawing skills for decent art of my own ... or not confident enough. Making collages is like crafts ... and it's easier on the comp in fact. You are so kind, Fairyring ... so happy you found inspiration in my collages. My enthusiastic fae ... now I feel nostalgic. G0lden ... I've missed you so when you backed out in the last months of the SoC. No new art in foreseeable future but lots of old goodies ... and something especially for you. Those photos are taken by G0lden ... so very inspiring and fitting for a well known couple. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| I remember those photos. They were taken in my old neighborhood. Cutter's was as just after dark with the moon rising. Leetah's was just at sunset. ___________________________________________________ Reese's, Kashmir's, and Tequila's mommy. | |

| I always thought Bearclaw not wanted to avenge the death of Joyleaf and the others in the tribe that were lost. He also was afraid of living his life alone without Joyleaf and chose death as a means to be with her. ___________________________________________________ Reese's, Kashmir's, and Tequila's mommy. | |

| First, great pieces! (I am partial to the Madcoil one as that is one of my favorite issues of ElfQuest - though it did kill three character I had longed to know more about back then - Rain, Joyleaf and Bearclaw). - G0lden wrote:

| Looks like we got the same impression, G0lden, though it stayed mere "feeling" for me without putting more thought in it. I see your point. Thank you, Tymber! *bows* Have you read the Wolfrider! storyline? It's about Bearclaw and Joyleaf and has spotlights on Rain as well. Now that the grab-bags have returned it's time to repost some of my contributions. Grab-Bag elements August 2008

| Great collages, Embala! I like the picture collages because the eyes can concentrate on the drawn elements. I really love the Blood of Chiefs-collage and how Ember shines in the last drop of "Chief Blood". Your illustrated poems are also amazing! It's like reading a kind of Shakespeare-comic. Much quality in a little space. It is refreshing to see drawings of Wendy in new arranged sequences. ___________________________________________________ If you see a Fairy Ring In a field of grass, Very lightly step around, Tip-Toe as you pass, Last night Fairies frolicked there And they're sleeping somewhere near. ~ | |

| The first collage I always knew it was About Rayek and his decision to leave Sorrows End, before he could get into a fight with Cutter. In a way he did. In the trial of the Heart, Rayek did the unthinkable after Cutter risked all to pull him to safety. It took the act to make him realize, that he was no longer first in all things, and he lost his place by his own choices.
The second collage. For me, dealt with Cutter's inner faith that Leetah, the twins and Skywise were alive and well. He did risk much to sleep for so long, but he know it was the only way to see his beloved family again as well as his bother in all but blood. Rayek, again made a rash choice in the heat of the moment just as he did in the trial of the heart. Sadly the second stunt nearly cost them all. ___________________________________________________ Reese's, Kashmir's, and Tequila's mommy. | |

| The first collage makes me feel so sad for Rayek...he lost so much at that time... In the second collage he was mislead by Winnowill...he didn't even understand that he hurt Leetha by separating her from Cutter and then she hurt him with her magic! That scene was epic! Made Rayek look really ignorant. Thank you for many déjà vu's in collage form! ___________________________________________________ If you see a Fairy Ring In a field of grass, Very lightly step around, Tip-Toe as you pass, Last night Fairies frolicked there And they're sleeping somewhere near. ~ | |

| Awww... I neglect my thred and my dear visitors. Thank you for your amazing comment, Fairyring! I'm honored. A Shakespeare comic ... never saw anything like this. I'm glad I could bring back some pleasent memories and maybe trigger some different view. That first picture sequence came quite self-evidently when I tried to "make sense" of Redhead's poem. When it comes to EQ I think and remember in pictures. I was concentrated on Rayek, his point of view, his loss. Yes, partly it was self-pity and he has basically caused his misery ... but I wanted to show compassion. In the second I concentrated on Cutter and what he went through. It seemed so easy ... the poems were leading. The poems triggered my creativity ... both poem and collage made you think about those events ... and you share your thoughts, G0lden. This kind of interaction, of mutual inspiration was always the best part on the Scroll for me. It's all my joy to share with you. Some of my kind tribemates here know that I'm a bit into dolling at times. Or a bit more. ^^ I blame Nightsea for this. After so much drama a different, funny facet of my early "art" will be nice. Nightsea always tries to introduce newbies to the dolling fun. This Ember base (= a usually naked template with or without hair) she offered was just too tempting ... For me it was only another kind of collage - the costume is borrowed from a Hidden Years title. Dressing a doll this way was a one time fun only ... so I looked for something more ... This base was meant as Shenshen - but I prefered to make an adolescent and slightly deranged Ember ... and then I found my extra fun Last not least a very young and unexperienced Strongbow All bases were prepared and provided by Nightsea at her Dollz thread at EQ.com. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| *chuckles* This Ember can be compared best with dressing a virtual paper doll, G0lden. Cutting the outfit from the HY cover and paste it on the doll ... of course it needed some tweaking. Or some more. Thank you for praise, Tymber! I'll share it with Nightsea for giving Ember awesome hair and characteristic features. I loved the idea to combine "grown-out" Ember with THIS scene, Rainflower. It was major fun! Thank you so much for the loving words and appreciation, Nightsea. *hugs* Lovely Embala is greeting me ... luring me back to the dollz. Many thanks for the gift, for posting here ... for your praise. *feels flattered and bashful* Some time ago G0lden's photos of the night sky triggered the first "heavenly creatures". Recently I made more. The Beauty ... ... and The Beast___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.
