I'm sorry, but what is intersex? Could someone enlighten me? I'd rather not google it because I'd probably find loads of conflicting info.
I'm asking because I am really curious what that would be. I know sexuality is a really wide spectrum, but just have no idea what intersex is.

Hermaphrodite would be another/older word for it.

Ah, hermaphrodite is a term I do know!
I was thinking it might be something in that direction but wasn't quite sure.

Sooooooo..... while working at the bakery today, this elderly gentleman came in with his grandsons. I knew them already because they also come in with their other grandmother, who I used to work with cleaning houses years ago.  So the guy and I start talking, and the cleaning topic came up.

He and his wife need someone to clean once every 2 weeks in their home.  No kids. Only 1 very friendly dog. It would bring in an extra $120 a month for me

Think I'm gonna take it too

Had to quit my old job in a industrial bakery due to allergy, I finally got a new one, don't know what it's called in English, but it's kinda like homecare for the elderly, and I also is looking for a second job, I go to school at night, and hoping to get in to the university this fall.

I feel nervous sometimes, when running my own business brings me into long conversations with young men. These are the kind of guys who would not have given me a second glance when I was young and single.

Landed a ghostwriting account from a midsize company today. I was very nervous, but I made a good impression.

Being unemployed since 2006 I survive somehow. Just cashed in my meagre pension funds to keep going for another year. Probably going to write a book, "How To Feed On Less Than 2 Euros A Day - Cooking For Survivors".

Sorry to hear that, Stormcatcher. Is writing-for-hire a career option for you?

@ Trollbabe: I think that would be ideal for me, home-office work anyway, but I have no idea how to get such a business started, how to build a client base and so on.

Been juggling two jobs and university studies for one and a half years.

I work part time as a cashier in a grocery store and can honestly not say I enjoy it - have Norwegian parents stopped raising their kids? So many kids seem to think our store is a playground and I can't ever remember having seen so as much as one parent do anything about it (I'm not allowed to say anything). I am looking for something else, though there are practically no jobs for People who have not finished their education.

The other job is teaching self defence to kids aged 4-8, and I can't say I enjoy that either. Their behaviour only gets worse, they can't stand still for three seconds and when I tell them to be quiet, they just ignore me -___- I am going to quit this as soon as possible, though that will put an end to the class as a whole - nobody else wants to teach these kids as they are, and I quote the other black belts, "a bunch of spoiled brats". Seriously, everyone refuse to train them.

Aaand I'm finishing my Bachelor degree in political science this spring. Will hand in my Bachelor paper on Tuesday (yikes!) and then I hope I get to study history for a year

Golden, that's how employers work these days. Sorry to hear that.

Does anyone use videoconferencing, for work of family? I have one client who wants me to use Gotomeeting, and another who wants me to use Skype.

To think once upon a time I made decent money being a single woman. Then the great recession hit, now I'm lucky to cover the basics.

I graduated from college during a recession. My mother felt I was at the end of the line, with the older Baby Boomers having taken the jobs.

At the moment: Trying not to have my brain melting. Some people call this "good weather". I have no clue what can be good about this heat (at least here in Europe it's too hot).

In longer terms: Trying to get my university work done so I can apply for a real job. Currently I receive a little money* from the state for unemployed people because I worked several years at the university (science and teaching and misc. stuff).

*Not enough for living but too much for dying. Though it was similar with my employment at the University before.

For the past few years I've worked as a spiritual counselor and an intuitive/empath. It's my full time gig (on my own terms, I work my own hours). I can't do the regular 9-5 thing, and never have been able to (and I've tried repeatedly, and have found that it's illogical to expect yourself to do something you hate). I just sort of fell into this type of work and I can't seem to get out of it. No complains for the most part, except it can be really draining at times (depending on the people I am working with), but it can also be incredibly uplifting and rewarding.

I also design jewelry and sometimes even sell it!!! lol. I was going to put a link to my Etsy shop , but I don't want to seem like I'm spamming or something.
And I'm working on my 2nd book (a rewrite after scrapping 250 pages of it a few years back).

Please share your jewelry artwork, Zadzi! We'd love to take a look. I love you It is welcome and not considered spam at all!

We have a thread for the great variance of Arts annd Crafts. You can share pictures there as well as a link to your Etsy shop!

I thought there is a thread for non-EQ homepages, shops and so on as well ... but this probably still needs to be opened.

I hope all the people who are looking for a job find one soon... Looking for work really sucks...

I'm a part-time mail deliverer. I hope to find something better some day (or at least something that pays better) but for now this is very easy to combine with the children so that's worth something, too...

Zadzi; your work sounds very interesting. It must be nice to be able to get paid for doing what you love. (To shine where you love?)

Thanks, Embala and Sifra!

Yes, looking for work is HORRIBLE. I went into a huge depression when I was trying to find work and couldn't. My heart really goes out people looking for employment and they're in my prayers.

Yes, Sifra, I guess I am shining where I love. Not sure I exactly love it all the time, but a lot of the time, yes !
