Just a place to post some of my non EQ-related poetry.
The majority of this might be pretty sad because writing poetry for me is a way to deal with emotions I don't really know how to express.

Silent Moments

Stop,
for a moment,
stand,
remember.
Heads bowed
not a sound;
as due respect is paid.
Beauty and horror
walking hand-in-hand.
Beauty for the gesture;
for silent memory,
horror for the reason;
which never should have been.

Remember

Remember now
the friends you had,
those who slipped away.
Remember good times,
not the bad.
Remember living,
not their end.
Remember friends from far and near,
remember smiles and joy.
For even though a life may end.
Too soon!
Too quick!
Too harsh!
Remember life is still a gift,
of wonders we may share.
Remember,
when you want to cry,
best memories you have.
Then, slowly, let those teardrops fall,
no need to feel ashamed.
Remember those who slipped away,
while smiling for their lives.

One shot fired,
World on fire.
Millions of people gone.
So many lives lost,
many far too young.
Like ripples through time,
the question echoes:
The shot that set the world on fire;
was it worth it in the end?

Now we are lost in the fire,
everything is turning to dust.
This is the time of your pyre,
all the friends you had they are lost

Just a poem that randomly popped into my head. Happened after I'd watched the GoT season 6 trailer, so might have something to do with that.

I wrote a little poem!

See the world with open eyes
a wonder deep and true
magic whispering through time
of people long-since gone
who looked up to the moon at night
and saw her saw beautiful
she gives us light when it’s dark
but slowly fades away
like snow which melts under the sun
as flowers need water for life
don’t be afaid my friend
it will all come back again
now go to silence and dream
of a million voices that sing
and move like the music from love
they know you just have to wait
and it stares into your soul

I've just reread "Remember" ... it's so beautiful, true and comforting.

The new one seems to cover a wide range ... still try to figure it out. I'll go with the first lines - see the wonders. Very Happy

Well, the first line is basically my "motto", then I just build it from there.
The challenge was that I was writing it using a set of fridge magnets I have (each magnet is a word), which limited which words - and how many of each - I had.

I'm proud to present my first - but hopefully not last - randomised poem!
How did I do it? I used my word fridge magnets, drew a small pile from the bag, and from that pile I constructed one line. That's why there's no real pattern, and the grammar is sort of... weird.

Use Music as Water

Use music as water, it moves you away
slowly into full bliss.

Stay curious, go check this poem-life
intensely singing against high pressure tonight,
for simple balance is passion on show;
perfect by time
there will be snow.

Make a wish about views from the moon,
gold-body with the fabulous heart.
Beautiful one
you could dream free again,
see greed come to end
and people give first.

It has an easy promise
since change would need today;
here help rests on your sweet charm
and chaos doesn’t respect us.

Now a boy does know his worth
can find our crazy party.

So... time for my second Randomised Poem
(I've decided not to title my poems from now on.

Fly into this space,
voice a wish.

Know how you dream to eternity,
touch time for a mystic game
and live this beautiful bliss.

Change was a million secrets,
a great music of love
begins for all
trying our soft care.

It’s fire she kisses first,
but he doesn’t listen
and strangely bites the cake.

Then you hit dark rock,
it would give him back.

Passion had almost seduced
the fool charming my sweet angel,
who I lick!

Naked boy surfed rather dizzy,
as you see pressure melt away
from happy neon-glow,
on water tonight.

Gone be eyes that grieve missed day
to suffer with big heart,
curious as gold.

Always trust us when we whisper:
”They were in electric clouds.”
