| Thanks! I was trying to draw her long, high one hair-- without replicating curls.
Maybe I'll finish it for the grabbag. I still have a headache-- but it's not so bad. For a quick sketch last night-- this didn't come out so bad either.

| Wow, Moonshade looks stunning, Lunacat! I love it...!
I like how she has this longer high one haircut...it suits her. Although it reminds me how she broke Strongbow's heart...still have to deal with the 'new Moonshade'. :-(
I remember those times when she even said to Leetha that it is wrong to not follow Cutter when Suntop had this bad dream that his father is in danger (because of Winnowill). I miss that loyal and traditional Moonshade. She was so close with her Wyl...but now...she is chasing other dreams... ___________________________________________________ Where flowers bloom, so does hope. - Lady Bird Johnson

| WOW ... Moonshade is looks stunningly beautiful! And her locks are much more believable because they fall in longer waves instead of showing cutrl tips only. Puckernauts - they ate totally beleavable for me. Simply wonderful. Actually I love that she's unfinished. This WIP shows the developement and the different states of artwork make the process more understandble for an amateur. Though it ould be fantastic to see the finished piece, too! Be well soon, Lunakat! *hint hint* ... drop her in the Moonshade thread ... pleeeeease ... ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert. | |

| Right now I'll try to catch up with our Scroll ... ... and then I need to get used to my new comp. Find my files. Test important ones. Get back my bookmarks (if possible). Get DVD Player and printer running. Test new picture editing program. ... Sounds like I'll be busy suring my vacation - and a bit longer. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert. | |

| Right now-- I'm at a talk, listening to Michele Clapton describe her process for costume design for Game of Thrones. This is pretty cool! [img] [/img] | |

| Isn't it crazy that these simple looking sketches turned into such elaborate costuming? She said that was her favorite scene to do because it was so wrong and lewd. She put a lot of backstory into the costumes that didn't get fully clarified in the TV series (I didn't read the books fully). I was impressed by how much thought she put into it. There were the more obvious things, like the consideration of what kind of materials each kingdom would've had access to, and what color schemes and symbols would have run through those clothing designs. There was the fun stuff like knowing that the capes, the fur capes worn by the nights watch were IKEA rugs dyed black. Or that she deliberately designed the closing of Dynares' men to be specifically for riding horses, and that it made them walk funny otherwise, and when the actors complained about it she insisted they had to walk that way. She wouldn't change the costumes for them, because she thought it added to the character. But what really impressed me was the thought she gave to say the clothing worn by the Stark family, for example. The knots in the clothing of the children represented childhood, but also lessons learned and skills mastered. In the clothing of the adults, achievements and abilities were represented by links in chains that were individually designed as symbols of those skills or events. You don't even see that or get it pointed out in the show-- do you? But there it is, adding the layers of culture or the implication of culture to the closin but there it is, adding the layers of culture or the implication of culture to the clothing. She also strategically incorporated into some of the background scenes of marketplaces or courtyards, The process of manufacturing clothes and dying clothes, as used by the different kingdoms and cultures. | |

| I just learn ... ... learn that costume desing for a TV show can be art of its own ... far from simply choosing some duds and being creative with design. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert. | |

| Oh geez-- you have no idea! (I sure didn't!) The stitching on the gowns is all done by hand-- and it's gorgeous! And so detailed-- and the different outfits with different embroidery were all designed to represent the different circumstances and stages of life and development in which the characters found themselves. Yeah-- okay! I'll stop gushing now. It's was pretty cool. Lots of thought and hard work! Yes-- totally an art form! Yay! | |

| That was last week. Today I spent hanging out with my friend who has bipolar disorder and talking her though a manic episode. I dropped her off at her parents' house ultimately. At one point, she forgot her own name. Very sad. | |
