That's going faster than expected! ... and time for a new nest again. a children's tale #2There's always a chance for an egg or more lying around, Kindred! *hugs and dances* ... and there's never a guaranty ... ^^ You got the hints for nest #1 nicely, Redhead and you were lucky with a thief. As far as the big one is concerned - probably consider a wider approach! Who says a hint must be a complete description? Awww... no luck today, G0lden? I'll have to offer a bigger nest somewhen soon. That was a record find, Wolfie! Treestump was brought home almost the moment he dropped in his thread! Big guy isn't good with hide and seek! XD |

You must have beeen so bored, G0lden! *chuckles* ... imagines a G0lden starting with A and working through the threads until she ends up with W for Wing ... Your find should identify those who settled. And Vaeri linked to the egg for prove. Maybe you and G0lden can team up and work together the way you've started? btw ... If you copy the picture url and post it within IMG tags you can drag in the actual eggie. Good luck for your very first own find, Vaeri! *crossing fingers* So - the numbers make you consider descendants of the settling ones, too? Let's see whether this will work out, Redhead. It's already Monday here ... How to Catch a Thief #1... time to post the first regular nest. Eggs will be dropped randomly within 24 hours from post time. |

You know that there iare "portraits" of Pirn and Shadowcrest? Christina Raibert found them - follow the links to the old SoC. The pictures are still alive. Not distinct nor pretty but better than an empty window, I bet. And just for completation - there's a guy she holds a bet he's Stormsong. Not confirmed at all but an acceptable conclusion. About Willowgreen - from memory: Willowgreen #1 was Rellah's daughter. Willowgreen #2 (Two-spear's mate) ressmebles her in look very much. There was a lot of speculation that she is the daughter (or an offspring) of Willowgreen #1 - or maybe her sister. There was a lot of contradicting information. You might have read one - and added Rellah as her mother. And then you've read something else ... and removed it. |

Welcome back, Sofia! Never too late to catch up. *remembers me waiting for German issues back in the past* I doubt there is an "official" retconning at all - less a list! All I remember is there's still Rule #1 ... and comments along the lines: "That's not important for Elves!" "That's just another thread / different pov ..." Elves are not linear." or new: "Every rule will be broken." I suggest you just tell what's puzzling you most, Sofia ... and we try to explain as far as we know. Or - how we put it together for ourselves. |

I'm happy you are pleased by young Cutter and Nightfall, G0lden! That early man managaged to have two entries this year - not bad. ^^ And the silvery ball holds the elder Shaman from Wolfrider! ... though his expression could easily be the Djun! Right with the shaman, Redhead ... hm ... having Thiro in the forth bauble would fit the "echos" theme! You guess right about Dewshine, Wolfie, she's lying in Leetah's arms as she should be. Her face is there - very small and only half showing. I figured that for Savah and the Sunfolk those sculptures or murals are like echoes from the past. Actually the b/w portrait is the elder Shaman from the Wolfrider! storyline. The boy in front of him is the Shaman we know from EQ #1. You should see the original scene when you click the calendar pic, Wolfie. Cutter looks at his father's sword he's handling proudly. And Nightfall admires her hero, of course! ^^ |

I see so many familiar names here I read FQ #22 and went online if someone else was pissed off and I found this forum! Yay! When I read FQ #1 and #2, I was already grumpy with how things were going, but I felt like a deserter and outsider for voicing my dislikes. I read on this forum that more people had that at some point in FQ. I'm glad I'm not the only one who is going to consider FQ non-canon First thing I'm gonna do is post a short fanfic I just wrote 15 minutes ago. It's freaking midnight here, but I woke up with this idea in mind. So I wrote it, registered here and I'm so happy now. |

Advent Calendar 2017 - Echoes ... The child is the link!Aww ... I'm so sorry that the new ornaments are too small or too obscured for you to see it properly, G0lden. Doesn't help that they feature background chars or rarely seen scenes. And you still give love to my creations! We have an ancient background elfess, a shadowy rear view of Timmorn - and Tumble, a pipling from the New Wavedancers series. As soon as I have finished baubling I'll code the pictures so that a click will lead to the original scenes. Promised! I'm sure seeing the original will help to recognize the tiny motives. At least it will give you an imagination of it. BotC? - NO. Original Quest ^^ ... in a few days the pictures will be clickable and lead to the original scenes, Redhead. Contemplative Timmorn! - Indeed! And Tumble. - Yup. He just tumbled in. ^^ Thanks for the praise. You are right with Timmorn, Wolfie. The color scheme of the drawing and the ornament were just made for each other! The pip's name is Tumble ... he was a young adult in Discovery. And the New Wavedancers are not the best known bunch. No wonder you have a problem to recognize him ... ^^ You'll find this young guy in Wavedancers #1, Evie. And 'bubble' was a perfect suggestion. XD You've basically summed up why I have chosen this scene with Timmorn! |

How about this one, Kat? He's "middle aged", a bit of a loner, a dreamer and an artist. When I made him I thought of a musician and jewel maker, maybe a coralshaper or weak healer (he need not be a magic user, tho) . - Clam / Clamshine (working names) That's the image I've made first. It is closest to his true colors. I've said it before - "Artemerika" shows her heritage, Prism! #1 and #3 emphasize beauty and grace of her mother. #2 has the vibe of her father at war - in very old comics. I like the lash instead of a lasso for her. #4 is my favorite - the best mix of both parents. Those critters are darling. *loves them all to pieces* Okay, I like the blackish one best - he caught my eyes first. And I like the green one because of her jewel eyes. A dragon and his bond ^^ in unusual colors. Harmonic contrasts. The rider reminds me of katcombs' Sorien - must be the hair. Last not least a surprise trio. Halloween calling ^^ ... they are beautiful demons! Shryke - dark and dangerous yet playful. Celeste (the middle one, I guess) - inviting and dangerous. And Moelle ... she's just pettable. *scratches litty demoness* |

(But first thought is mostly wrong when the "heartbreaking news" will be revealed finally, given the experiance with FQ so far.) Though ... "long-enduring" should be a Wolfrider from EQ #1 - or who else? |

Well... the berries kinda gave it away with this one. Now, who is mystery-guy from nest #1? So... nest #3... I'd say Timmain - of course - together with Adya, Aerth, the Alpha Male and... my guess is Skywise and there is a - I think - new Skywise one in his thread. But he seems to be waiting for Wolfie. Okay, bit late in replying: - Embala wrote:

That's why I was confused. Dewshine, Tyldak, Kahvi, Windkin. That's four. But the only one who could have slept with all the others, and not engage in incest, would be Kahvi, and I don't remember anything between her and Dewshine. |

My guess: Dewshine looks nine or ten years old at the Madcoil encounter (roughly fits with the half-official timeline). Six years from Madcoil til EQ #1 are confirmed. Plus seven years from there til BM - makes Dewshine some 23 years old at Recognition. Same age as Cutter. In the novelisation Savah tells that she "recognizes Yurek before her body was fully grown". And in the BoTC books Stormlight recognized Tanner at very young age - almost too young to give birth as far as I've understood it. (BotC novelization specialists here?) (Not counting the Original Wavedancers episode where Barmek recognized Raenafel when he was still a boy. Even too young to understand what just happened.)I figure it can happen as early as reproduction is possible. But it's not common. |

I'm always fascinated about how Michael Moore correctly predicted this win - and also how Hilary would lose every single rustbelt state which he pointed out. It's scary. He also warned the people about voting for Trump by basically telling them he doesn't give a damn about them. And that's exactly what's happening. The 'swamp' drainage is being filled up by billionaires. That ban on Muslim countries (which is disgusting) doesn't even include probably the #1 country where the wahabis are coming out of, and who've been wreaking havoc on the world with their fanatical brand of Islam. Saudi Arabia is NOT on that list because billionaires / money / oil, and also... Trump has some golf courses there and investments to protect. That's why I am laughing in the face of this BS that this was for 'security reasons' for the US. ISIS looks at what he's doing as a boon and a gift. ISIS's #1 group of people who are killed at their hands are other Muslims btw. Not that a lot of people give 2 shits about this because, well, they all look at muslims as the same and who cares. Isolationism however will get you NOWHERE. Putting a gag order on the EPA and telling scientists that they're not allowed to publish their findings unless they go through the WH where it's been made clear that science doesn't matter... that's some authoritarian shit right there. Esp with Bannon calling the media the 'opposition' - any media which doesn't BACK him or kiss the proverbial ring. You have a child who is obsessed with crowd size a POTUS and who has authoritarian instincts (yet not authoritarian tactics because he himself is not disciplined enough). Bannon however is a different story and does have the discipline. Which is scary. Read up on authoritarianism because this is exactly what's starting to happen now and what will continue happening. I've literally made myself sick from reading all that's been happening lately and freaking out, every single day, for hours. |

to #1 ... depends In case the question is whether it is life at all - sure it is. It's organic, it can grow and it is able to develop into a complex life form. In case 'Curiosity' would find anything similar to a) on Mars there would be an incredible exitement about the confirmation of alien life. When it's the question whether it is life that should equal the mother's life - her physical, mental and emotional wellfare - then my answer is different. Neither a) nor b) ... that's not more than a plant seed or a fertilized bird egg for me. Possibilies which may or may not happen. Not c) as well - heartbeat is a rather technical function, not suitable to define human life. Admittedly it can have a huge emotional impact on the woman and other concerned people. It is a rather easy illustration that the "something" in the belly rapidly developes into a living being. d) seriously? Well ... I get the possibility of a very brief thought. XD In my opinion human life begins with the awakening of conciousness - hen brain is developed enough. @Wordgazer and @Stormcatcher have put it similar. They mentioned the 6th/7th month for this developement ... I know they read enough to know about evidence. I don't - so I'll go with their time frame. But - the day of conception is not always so clear and the developement seems to be not as regulary as a clockwork what I've read about. I'd put it two or four weeks earlier just to be sure. And I'll give another, very personal anwser, in addition. What I've said bove is the view of my reasonable mind on this. The emotional part sais: Life starts when your emotions connect to it, when you see the child that will be instead of the cluster of cells that is. If the woman is aware of her pregnancy and bonds to this child-to-be and pregnancy fails after four weeks, six weeks, eight weeks ... then the mother has lost a child. Then the father has lost a child. Then the family has lost a child. And they have the right to mourn ... and no one should say: Get over it. It was just a ball of cells. to #2Where's the dilemma? Return the basket, ask if someone is missing it, leave it with a note and apology in case no one claims it . And inform the owner or whoever is in charge in case you think it makes sense. It's highly embarrassing - make sure to identify your stuff better next time. to #3I have a heard to to come up with the names of at least one or two punk bands ... and I know punk wasn't my at the time punk was big. Point me to songs that are music instead of foul-mouthed screams and I might give it a try. |

You've already noticed the chatbox? The box is good for support and all kind of talk. I've started with Bastei's "Abenteuer in der Elfenwelt" as well ... lucky to get into it with Elfquest #1 and catch all the other issues up to KotBW #9. Continued by the Carlson Comics republishing and new releases. Then there was looooots of time to gather all the English originals ... before EQ got a restart with SatS, Discovery and finally the Final Quest. Like you I was excited to get new adventures, a conclusion ... and mildly disappointed that it does not feel like "first love" anymore. See, I think that is an apt analogy. Sure, the timescale is different with the elves, but they're at the same impasse. Moonshade is changing, her lifestyle is changing, she wants to live elsewhere, do different things. Strongbow wants to stick with the status quo, he's happy in their "hometown" and can't imagine himself living anywhere else. Timescale doesn't matter. Commitment is what matters. We are talking about immortals, as you point out, but I feel that just makes my point. What are centuries, millennia or epochs to them in the long run? To look at it only as a matter of time and relative age means Rayek did nothing wrong when he separated Cutter and Leetah in KOTB. - wisp wrote:
- In general, however, I agree with your further point that a marriage (or lifemating) should be about overcoming disagreements and not throwing the towel in at the first sign of trouble:
But like Zadzi says, they've been rehashing this for a decade (and us along with them) and their conversations get them absolutely nowhere. They keep talking at each other and not listening to each other. You can't forge a compromise without listening. I did not need rendition #1,467 of their stale debate...
They are so dense, they are so boring. I was on board with this plot development at the beginning. But it kills me to see panel space wasted on them when there aren't any changes in their plot. If you plotted their storyline on an axis, it would basically be a straight line from the moment Moonshade left to join the palace to the moment she gave up her wolfblood. Now we're flat-lining again. Other plot elements could use that space! I think we're pretty well in agreement then. I agree totally that I'm ready for this storyline to be finished one way or the other. I just disagree strongly with those who seem to be advocating that Moonshade wash that elf right out of her hair. - wisp wrote:
- Strongbow and Moonshade are old favorites of mine. It kills me to see their characters fed into the thresher like this. Going by everything we saw up until FQ, they were a mature couple, with a deep understanding of one another (or at least Moonshade understood Strongbow). Now they've lost all willingness to empathize with one another. It's like the clock has been rolled back on their relationship. Any halfway decent human marriage makes them look like a couple of 16 year olds at this point.
I agree 110%. How did the couple who shared so deeply it was on a spiritual level that about broke Skot's brain come to this? Let alone so quickly?[/quote] |
