| "chuckles" Never thought of comparing Elfquest with Superman! Inpressive listing of comparisms and coincidences ... I wonder how many fictional worlds could be compared like this picking the right facts. ^^ Blue Mountain, black Winnowill ... so far my thoughts wandered as well. Aroree being seperated from the darkness is a new and interesting facet, Hammer. That's when I love my collage art most - when it evokes new associations and thoughts, strikes up a surprising fusion or tells a little story of it's own. And when this works for my visitor here - that's wonderful. - Zadzi wrote:
- I must say, you've got a real knack for these. It's like the pieces were made exactly for your images
Let me illustrate something ... a glimpse on how collage making works for me. How my mind is wired ... Looking for a crystal to ban a special character in it, seeing a crystal that sparks an association with a certain character - both ways work equally well for a start. Another aquamarine suggesting watery environment, a color reminding of Reef, a beautiful picture of the no more broken one - it's like made for each other. It's nice, isn't it? ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| Thats definately a Reef stone, with the chaotic "brokenness" wrapped around the straight lines of the "fixed" crystal, nice! ___________________________________________________ | |

| Exactly my thought, Hammer, and you have put in word what I've seen in it unconciously! I've called the collage "Broken No More". Nevertheless ... I've skipped this shard as a fail. This one was just a first draft, a function test, and I was not content at all. Oh, it could have been improved ... (reworked this one only for demonstration purpose) ... and a minor change makes a difference already. Spot it? The pictures merge better now - but it looks unbalanced. It does not click. There's not the " YESSS! This I want to show!" lamp blinking in mind ... the collage stays interchangeable. Random. Normally such a "fail" goes to the waste bucket and you would never see it. Sooo... what to do with Reef ... ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| YESS! That's what faszinated me too with this idea. Reef is literally breaking the forth wall ... and the structure around the crystal gives him the best oportunity to succeed. Thank you for pointing this out, Wolfie Proves me that it works for the viewer. This first shard was still calling for Reef, tho. Something about it seemed to be made for him as well - Hammer summed it up nicely. I gave it a second and third thought ... skimmed my Reef files ... and VOILÀ! - Broken No MoreDo you see what happened with shard and character this time? It's a true fusion ... and story telling as a bonus. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| More variations in water ... - Magic PondKahvi preserved in blue amber seems very appropriate! ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| I was slightly obsessed with watery scenes after this Reef "making-of" and just remembed this pool again. I'm lucky to show something new while I'm still learning GIMP. - Back to LifeGuess I have obscured Kahvi too much. Then ... she's a spirit and spirits are hard to spot for human eyes. ^^

| Thank you, Leanan and fae! Glad you enjoy. Lovely ... well, this was meant as a fast test, only a "sloppy sketch", but it turned out lovely. Good enough to show ... ... might try a "perfect" version for finger practice on my new program sooner or later.

| Thank you, fae. Miss you on the forum. Hope you are well and real life is kind. Still no new ones to show. Still struggling much too much with my new program. Any suggestions for combinations of elf and shard to spark ideas and ambition? ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert. | |

| =D thank you so much, Em!
I love how it looks like fire trapped in underneath ice. Hindered, smothered. So fitting for my favourite bitter healer ___________________________________________________ 'We're all broken, in different ways, in varying degrees.'

| I'm glad you like it so much, Shadowpath! Originally this one should be your gift egg. The motive turned out too small and not recognizable in default size, tho. Having it as a Palace Shard is even better now! Fire underneath Ice - that's an excellent way to describe it. I like learning about your associations. Thank you so much for the great comments, Evie and Beryl. *group hug* Those druzy eggs captured my eyes and attention. There were more eggs ... and more ideas. This one was Wolfie's gift egg: - ... with Stars as Dowry

| *bows* Thank you for those enthusiastic comments, G0lden and Kat! My dear thanks to you too, Davrille. *blushes* Fannish activity ... "fan-ac" ... now I have a name for my playful approaches! Another one inspired by Shadowpath's "bitter healer" ... - Gate to the Stars... no doubt who would volonteer to move into this pastel colored shiny home. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| Another thread mended - pictures shine as they should again! Thank you for your loyal followership and praise, G0lden. *hugs* I'm so happy when I can offer a pleasant view and make visitors smile! Rellah was very present in my mind those days, Vojira. And I found a handful of gems which are just made for her!
