I agree! BTW If you've been to the American South, Southern slugs are massive. ___________________________________________________

- Special Operations Report - The Slug Wars - Sargent IceTooth Reporting
The war against the slugs goes well. Man...er Slugtraps were placed based on advice from various community members and filled with cheap beer, a substance said cause massive destruction to enemy forces. I also consulted with local experts who provided bags of a chemical substance said to draw and destroy enemy slugs. Plants were protected with said chemical barriers along with said beer traps. Entire operation completed in under two hours.
Note: I tried imbibing some of the cheap beer used for the traps and found it to be most unpleasant.
The battle began with a night time perimeter sweep. It was only 1900 hours but the forces of the Slug Army were already on the move! I decided that as a first wave of offense, I would destroy all enemy slugs via hand to hand combat.
Note: I tried to enlist the help of a Special Agent known as "Mrs. Lifemate" whom shares my home domicile. Her response was "Looks like you got this" so operation was launched alone.
All slugs in the vicinity were intercepted and destroyed. First wave of slug forces saw minor losses in the beer traps! Operation concluded until sunrise tomorrow.
Day 2 - Time 0700 Hours
I viewed the battle ground and was met with a shocking number of enemy slug forces! Dozens were gathered and destroyed...this enemy seems to have soldiers without end!
Beer traps proved highly successful in trapping and destroying enemy slugs. Poison barriers also stopped and damaged slug reserve forces. Plants were undamaged, making this operation a rousing success!
All remaining slugs were destroyed without incident.
Note: Must pick up fresh supply of cheep beer to rearm BToDs (Beer Traps of Doom). Will consult my advisors on brand.
Recommendation: Natural Light, Budweiser or whatever is most cost effective.
Special Thanks to Agents Nibblet and Kindredsoul for sharing their knowledge that Enemy forces are highly susceptible to cheap beer. ___________________________________________________ Compliments go to Embala for bringing a British cat and an American dog together via Photoshop! chibi cutter compliments of katcombs! | Lol, glad y'all found it fun to read. Have to do use a little humor to keep sane these days. My lifemate informed me today that she feels a little bad for the slugs. Of course, she wants a nice garden and fresh vegetables too, but we'll see if I decide to share them with her.

Yes indeedy! If you look closely, you can see 3 containers that I buried in the ground. Those are my SDoDs (Slug Traps of Doom) and are filled with cheap beer. I left the Budweiser can there as proof of my dedication to keeping my plants safe. I discovered a big, fat slug near my potato plants this morning. He was eating those little pellets I placed out to entice them. He ain't eating them no more.

I'll take the coyotes. Do they ever attack people? The ones I saw when I was living Arizona were just little guys...I always wondered if they were good to eat.

| Javalina can be extremely aggressive. And they do get big. The one wandering around is being described as a wild boar, so I'm guessing it's a sizable porker.
I hear they are okay, but super gamey and you have to cook 'em just right. They're not the same as an actual pig. ___________________________________________________

| Yeah, skunk pigs aren't huge-huge. And the babies are adorable. That said, they're still scary when you can't see them coming in the dark, and they will chase you. I've dealt with coyotes before. They usually shoo pretty quickly out here. Or just look at you and continue to laze where they are. ___________________________________________________

| Yikes...they do look big enough to do some damage! Where I grew up we had wild boars that could grow to over 500 lbs...and they could get tusks nearly a foot long. There were many stories of inexperienced hunters shooting them with low caliber rifles only to find that either the bullet bounced right off their thick skulls, or didn't do enough damage to stop them. In any event, they'd end up with one very pissed off wild pig that wanted their blood. It was not common to encounter one randomly as they tend to avoid people, but those feral piggies are nothing to mess around with. One particularly dumb ass guy I knew tried to take one one with just a knife...thankfully a family member shot the pig right before it gored him with death. At least the javelinas are cuter...the ones I'm familiar with are downright ugly SOBs. | |

| Yikes!
They are much cuter (if stinkier. tHey're called skunk pigs for a reason). But because smaller they like coming down into neighborhoods. Same reason as coyotes. It's getting hot and there is a canal and lots of swimming pools in the area. You can smell the Arizona canal easy right now in this heat. It's a bit ripe. Highly swampy for running water. @_@ ___________________________________________________
