The movie isnt far away, coming fast (though I dont expect to get into the theater for a month due to sellouts and crowds). Im kind of excited about it, lots of good things in the trailers and hints as to the unspoiled goodies that will be in it.
As with most modern things, I did hear some disappointing things, such as "all books, novels, etc have been declared non-canon". So what Im wondering is if there are some professional writers out there with incomplete series that are now going "well, crap, not much reason finishing it if its been voided?"
Of course I have to admit I didnt realize how much 'written' material there is for Star Wars. Id thought the 3 books I read like 20 years ago were "ep. 7-9", but now, not only do I find out they arent hardly a fraction of what was written, they are now "AU" and whatever Disney spins will be original... and they dont even have the third movie planned beyond 'its gonna happen". Funny how storywriting goes these days.
Still, lots of great moments already seen in the trailers, and this is one of the few movies I plan to take my son to in theater (probably will only have 3-6 chances to see it the first time in theater, right?)
