I read the first three issues and I really hope it's not only a Hunt for the Stargazer by his Mary-Sueish Daughter... I don't like Jink, maybe because of her portrayal as this perfect being. The teaser texts on the Dark Horse Website for the issues are really, really bad... "the amazing and gifted Jink", "Jink, grown into an amazing young woman", " the fabulous Jink"... And the tell and not show stile of #3 is not helping. I haven't really read Jink, the Rebels and Future Quest, so I don't know how she is supposed to be like... I'm a Starwise fan and I hoped for a Starwise centred story. I'm afraid they put him in wrapstuff the whole time, because they don't know a clever way to show his hunt for his memories. Why doesn't he start on TWTM? He doesn't seem to be THAT confused. Chad/Goldruff: I like the dynamic with Yun and his kinda rebellious character. The name... I would have tipped on Quickblade, the unused son from the early stages of EQ: http://www.elfquest.com/images/fun/images/EQ103.jpgGoldruff is kind of a silly name in my ears, maybe because English is not my native language and I miss something? But I can't image Leetah to give such a name to her child. |

This reminds me: Is there already a preview for Stargazer's Hunt #3?Found at least a cover. Three tall ladies (note to myself: another idea for 3K!) but I'm not too fascinated how it turned out. |

Hmmm, so now we know from the blurbs of #2 and #3 what will happen next. - Spoilers:
Skywise freaks out over the "reveal", then Jinks does something to him, probably the mind-wipe thing, and Skywise disappears, just like Cutter did. In #3 Jink is already grown up, since, you know, we almost always skip elf-childhood. Well, so my prediction was wrong, expectations subverted, I guess? How the heck can Skywise disappear? There are exactly two planets where he might actually be. Getting basically the same storyline twice (TimTam-reveal, character gets spooked out), others have to search and find him for the rescue and bring him back from insanity. I will probably not continue to buy the single issues. Just don't care enough.
Why do Cutter and Skywise even freak out about the reveal? I'm a human and would probably not freak out of my mind if this would happen to me (I'd be shocked, sure, but I would also be curious). Why should it be such a problem for them, that Timmain and Cutter share a soul? Elves don't put such an emphasis on individualism as we humans do, right? |

Well it may sound cheesy but I always say beauty comes from within. Just think of how many people are beautiful outside but are ugly characterwise...yet society focuses so much on mere looks... Aww the meaning of your name is beautiful. I love getting to know the meaning behind names. Oh yes my elf self name would be Prayer. I like how some elves are named by what they are doing...like Cutter, Mender, Scouter etc.. It's a very practical way of naming an elf. Just look at Suntoucher's prayer below in the panel out of EQ #3. That's what Prayer would totally do as well in such a situation! |

I'm sure it's about Cutter's spirit ... and the mentioned sister is Shuna. Thus this poem should be sung by Sunstream, because he's shown to have a special connection with Shuna. But - shouldn't Ember be the "most loved"? *stumped* Doesn't work - because Sunstream is in the Palace. Cutlet (my initial thought after the first verse) never was seen in interaction with Shuna. Leaves Ember ... but I don't remember a noticible connection between the foster sisters. Is it your special view on the sisters? Artistic license? Or - were you tricky and used all three ...Cutlet #1, Sunstream #2, Ember #3? (non for Shuna because she cannot feel spirits). This would be my interpretation ist I'd be up to make a collage. Or ... have you stumped me again? ^^ Anyway - I LOVE it because it makes me think! - Quote :
- Soul met soul,
ere eyes met eyes. A soul in different parts. He longed to see her eye-to-eye, she heard, and met his heart.
This IS about a Recognition, is it? And the second one ... my "collage interpretation" would be still ... but I'm curious to find out your intention. It's discussable, whether Winnowill is "dead". She and Rayek would be an interpretation for this second poem - an interesting one. But I found out while writing: It's much more literal. Mender and Dart. Nice to see you again, Redhead and your writing is always a treat! |

The rules for the Easter EggHunt are in the first post. Don't be shy and ask if more information is needed. Rule #6 can be easily summed up this way: When you were lucky with a nest already - give other hunters a chance to have the same fun and success, too! This year's theme will be "Meetings and Partings" - more or less meaningful encounters, a temporary goodbye or farewell for good. I'll give a - more or less cryptical - verbal hint to spark ideas. Some stay to settle, one stayed to protect ... #0This nest is an exception from the rule #3 - I will hide only one mini egg per day (or none) from now until Easter Monday. Have dropped the first one in the Character section! Have FUN! |

*chuckles* I've understood YOU exactly right, Redhead. And I mean what I've said ... that in my eyes Skywise is still a pupil ... even Sunstream's student to some degree. ^^ Who was concerned about Skywise's abilities to control the sphere on his own? Sunstream. And who was right? Sunstream. Skywise almost crashed the sphere in Sorrow's End's ruins. XD (I admit that Skywise IS Sunstream's mentor as well ^^ ... it's just hard for me to see it this way in the first place) #3 of your "last but two" post is still missing (you've dropped a BUNCH new ones!) ... Little Bird's father's sister's killer's killer's father's student's uncle's lifemate's chief's aunt's father's co-leader's student's student's playmate's suitor's mother's prison's lovemate's mother's grandson's lifemate's mother's lifemate's grandchild's aunt's chief's warning. from second-last post: Nightfall's daughter's father's chief's son's daughter's brother's grandmother's daughter's sister's lovemate's prisoner's captive's/victim's aunt's killer. treeshaper's daughter's chief's mother's leader's black mirror's/capturer's captive's aunt's grandson's grandmother's lifemate's student's love-interest's mother's lifemate's grandchild's lovemateÄ's co-healer's friend's uncle's lifemate's lifemate's mentor's lovemate. |

I've said it before - "Artemerika" shows her heritage, Prism! #1 and #3 emphasize beauty and grace of her mother. #2 has the vibe of her father at war - in very old comics. I like the lash instead of a lasso for her. #4 is my favorite - the best mix of both parents. Those critters are darling. *loves them all to pieces* Okay, I like the blackish one best - he caught my eyes first. And I like the green one because of her jewel eyes. A dragon and his bond ^^ in unusual colors. Harmonic contrasts. The rider reminds me of katcombs' Sorien - must be the hair. Last not least a surprise trio. Halloween calling ^^ ... they are beautiful demons! Shryke - dark and dangerous yet playful. Celeste (the middle one, I guess) - inviting and dangerous. And Moelle ... she's just pettable. *scratches litty demoness* |

Well... the berries kinda gave it away with this one. Now, who is mystery-guy from nest #1? So... nest #3... I'd say Timmain - of course - together with Adya, Aerth, the Alpha Male and... my guess is Skywise and there is a - I think - new Skywise one in his thread. But he seems to be waiting for Wolfie. Okay, bit late in replying: - Embala wrote:
- YES, you are close with your guess for today's nest ... and off. Look at the number of eggs ... four only. Hints the "initiate" character and his/her 3 lovemates, right? Leaves the question - who is the initiate char? Means - not each one MUST have rolled in the furs with all the others ... of course they could have. ^^
That's why I was confused. Dewshine, Tyldak, Kahvi, Windkin. That's four. But the only one who could have slept with all the others, and not engage in incest, would be Kahvi, and I don't remember anything between her and Dewshine. |

I like the first drawing with them both lying on the bed. Darkfire is sleeping - her back turned to the viewer. Zharo lies on his back, guarding her sleep and playing withe some orbs. He looks both caring ad bored - kinda cute. I love that you gave them different positions - makes it natural and ... gives tension picturewise. Good details at the second one - the board with the bottle and the firepot oven. I like this oven - something you have at home in a similar way? I love that you put enough thought into their way of life to spice your drawings with home comfort details. My favorite drawing is the third one - it is the most lively, most speaking one for me in this post. You have foreground and background, a seize difference due to perspective and a working pose. Love it. Same principle with the fourth drawing - I cannot tell you why it doesn't work equally well for me. It seems ... empty. A matter of shadingmaybe? Or the picture composition? Picturewise #3 looks fab for me ... and #4 kinda boring. Unfinished. I tell you because you might be able to figure out the reason and it will help you with future drawings. The last one is somewhere between the other two. I like how Darkfire collapes - pose and "visible movement" work perfectly. |

And here Rol is already! I love his black and blue color scheme - thunder in the sky - with some fresh leafgreen to ground him and connect him to nature. The other two guys look cute - and enterprising. Ready for an adventure. I like that you have given each of them a distinct, easily recognizable color scheme and own style. Dark and mysterious for Rol (love this type ^^), green and casual (? loose 'n easy) and orderly-strict redbrown for #2 and #3. You must name those boys, Kat! btw: I like them on the Elven Prince maker! A Dragonrider from Danen ... a fighter from her looks! (I've mistaken your intention of adding a Dragonrider - and expected a boy). Wild and colorful hairdo and contrasting colors! Another one who desperately needs a name. A quick shot because I've missed the dragon in your take on her <- Dinogeddon DragonRider ... and this one was not far to seek! I swear you'll get a proper edit (ears, fingers) when it's not beyond sleeping time. This will possibly start a series when time meets mood. Would you leave this maker to me for a while, please? I know that I'll hardly come up with something once the owner showed his/her take on a char. Must admit that it will take time ... EggQuest ist calling.Wolfie looks ruffled with a funny touch :heaart: - good for Tailspin! *cuddles and scratches* The yellow eyes remind me of Blackfell - just friendlier. Sprites ... you turn Prism's fusions into sprites, am I right? I remember the "old times" when this made an OC kinda official. ^^ I didn't keep track of them well enough for a proper identification ... Leefall and Moonshine would be my best guess so far. Thank you for giving so much love to Lun and Star! |

to #1 ... depends In case the question is whether it is life at all - sure it is. It's organic, it can grow and it is able to develop into a complex life form. In case 'Curiosity' would find anything similar to a) on Mars there would be an incredible exitement about the confirmation of alien life. When it's the question whether it is life that should equal the mother's life - her physical, mental and emotional wellfare - then my answer is different. Neither a) nor b) ... that's not more than a plant seed or a fertilized bird egg for me. Possibilies which may or may not happen. Not c) as well - heartbeat is a rather technical function, not suitable to define human life. Admittedly it can have a huge emotional impact on the woman and other concerned people. It is a rather easy illustration that the "something" in the belly rapidly developes into a living being. d) seriously? Well ... I get the possibility of a very brief thought. XD In my opinion human life begins with the awakening of conciousness - hen brain is developed enough. @Wordgazer and @Stormcatcher have put it similar. They mentioned the 6th/7th month for this developement ... I know they read enough to know about evidence. I don't - so I'll go with their time frame. But - the day of conception is not always so clear and the developement seems to be not as regulary as a clockwork what I've read about. I'd put it two or four weeks earlier just to be sure. And I'll give another, very personal anwser, in addition. What I've said bove is the view of my reasonable mind on this. The emotional part sais: Life starts when your emotions connect to it, when you see the child that will be instead of the cluster of cells that is. If the woman is aware of her pregnancy and bonds to this child-to-be and pregnancy fails after four weeks, six weeks, eight weeks ... then the mother has lost a child. Then the father has lost a child. Then the family has lost a child. And they have the right to mourn ... and no one should say: Get over it. It was just a ball of cells. to #2Where's the dilemma? Return the basket, ask if someone is missing it, leave it with a note and apology in case no one claims it . And inform the owner or whoever is in charge in case you think it makes sense. It's highly embarrassing - make sure to identify your stuff better next time. to #3I have a heard to to come up with the names of at least one or two punk bands ... and I know punk wasn't my at the time punk was big. Point me to songs that are music instead of foul-mouthed screams and I might give it a try. |
