I drew all of these digitally. It is soothing to me drawing them and make them appear glowy.

Glad you like them. Yes, I used digital pattern brushes for them (from Autodesk Scetchbook)...there are so many possibilities to draw a gem but I happen to draw them like this (kind of an awkward way, but it's just personal preference I guess).

I start with a loose structure...

...make the inside glow...

...cut it into an oval shape...

...add details/colors...

...change color hue and/or opacity and add a shadow.

Right, well said! It is simple, yet the complexity of the structure makes it kinda hard to achieve...I needed an understanding of color hue and opacity before it could resemble a transparent object. As so often in art, it looks easy and effortless to do. Like, when you look at other artists who share videos of their process ...but then you also try it and before you realised it, hours have passed and you are still not satisfied with the result.

So here's my try of a gem (blue sphere). The blue color is so calming for me.
