Echoing the good luck wishes, Mrs.Grizzly! There are new chemo drugs that delivered through pills instead of IVs. Here's hoping you can go that route instead of the port!

Update!!!

So, I managed to qualify for a program from the manufacturer of the chemo drugs, so I'm able to get those at no cost to me. (Yay!) Which means I was able to start on treatment the second week of July. (Yay!) But what was supposed to be a two-day stay in the hospital just to be sure nothing went wonky (spoiler alert: it did) turned into a full week in the hospital as the drugs went all KINDS of gangbusters on the cancer in my system, turning the whole thing into a mess until things settled down.

Then I got to spend two weeks at Grandma's, without ANY Internet access at all, and I'm still going to end up going back there to sleep at night, but at least now I can come over to *my* house and check the Internet and keep in contact with people.

Apparently I was going downhill *very* fast when I finally started on the treatment, but I'm doing a lot better now. Still not great, but I'm doing better.

We're still trying to figure out what sort of costs we're going to be looking at so that a funding campaign can be set up to cover some of those costs. It's not easy. I'll have to get back to y'all on that one.

Thank you for the update! I'm so glad to hear you've been able to start treatment and that things are going well, even if there was some kerfuffle at first. Fingers, toes and eyes are still crossed for you!

I'm so glad you were able to drop in for an update, Grizz. You were missed here but I kept telling myself treatment will keep you away and crossed fingers and toes for positive developement.

I'm rather stunned by the support I've been getting. It's... it's awesomesad... sad because it sucks that this has to happen but awesome that so many people are willing to invest in my sticking around.

I've been able to get the first four treatments scheduled, so the month of December is going to be interesting, but I'm going to make it through.

I appreciate all the help, guys, for real and serious.

At least I'll be able to play Pokemon Ultra Sun while sitting in a chair with the medicine dripping into my veins, so there's that to look forward to.
