Stargazer's Hunt

I am half interested and half wary. I might enjoy something which I don't have years of expectations for. But I still feel like I need a New Age dictionary for much of FQ.

I know I'll give it a try ... most likely will follow it to the end anyway.

I can guess why Skywise is looking at himself, but it looks really weird. Jink is there twice too. (Why doubles?)

I think that's quite possibly the...weirdest cover I've ever seen?

I thought that was Timmain, not a second Jink. They did say it wound bounce around time and space, though

I am of both minds too manga! And jeez it took how many years of speculating to get confirmation on Jink's parentage? How long has she been suspected of being skywise's and Timmain's? Guess she got her father's libido...and we may be going into future quest. Bet it's Timmain in Cutter's shape we saw all those years ago. Maybe Skywise REALLY misses Cutter sometimes so she tries to help him out...O.o

Yeah, it seems, based on Futurequest and Jinx, that she mindwiped her dad (Skywise) because he was sad about something (probably Cutter) and ended up banished or lost on the Wo2M. Then she mindwiped herself so that she wouldn’t remember what she did— and ended up caught him an endless loop of casual relationships... until the events of the comic.

My guess would be that Skywise sets out in search of Jinx— except that the blurb says “no one can guess” what he’s hunting for— so my guess must be wrong since it’s so obvious.

I wonder why Timmain would take on the form of Cutter? Maybe that’s what it took to get Strongbow onboard? Maybe Cutter is cohabitating with her in the same body? Maybe they just...merged? If that is Timmain— why can’t she pilot? Why does she need the millennial elf to do it for her?

Are she and Skywise divorced??

As for Strongbow— obviously he was dressed by Moonshade his entire life and is beyond fashion challenged without her. Tragic.

Didn't Strongbow decide to leave with the palace after.Moonshade's tragic(but pointless) death?....goddamnit i wanted a High One Moonshade soaring through space!!!*bawls* .....i'm never getting over that....but i feel lunakat's suggestion about Strongbow not having much fashion sense may have some validity.

My boyfriend said no story about "spanning through time and space" being much good...i fear he is right. I mean it'll kinda be nice if we can see how elves live on Home Star, or hell, see Jink grow up. I feel kinda cynical and think we won't though...

Just called my local comic shop and alerted them - looks like I'm still interested in the series...

It's definitely gonna be Skywise looking for Jinx. Maybe I'm conflating EQ with the last seasons of GoT, but FiQu wasn't really surprising, was it? The mysteries were non-surprising and anticlimactic, right?

When it comes to what he's looking for, I've gone with the weirdest idea and it's the spirit Timmain might have stolen a body from to make her avatar. (It's from one of the old threads. I like that idea and am still waiting for the fic about it)

Worst thing for me would be if we simply get another version of this and end up with the discovery of the Neverending.

I mean we all suspected that Jink was his daughter but to just reveal it like that? Jeez

Actually, Jink's parentage was revealed at the end of Final Quest.

At the end of FQ was reveiled that Skywise and Timmain have a child.      Very theoretically this could have been some other elf ... even a baby boy.

I had a thought that was horrifying....what if they go the route of Dragon Ball Super?!! Trying to do multiverse and ruining it??!!

I'll be honest, I'd be fine with that as long as we see other elves. (Bonus if it's somehow set further back in time because it tends to mean fewer humans and I hate the amount of humans in FQ)

Hope we get to learn more about some of the background characters of FQ like Dre-Ahn

hm ... Stargazer's Hunt - I wonder if this will concentrate on Skywise and the Palace and its innhabitant.

... or if it jumps back and forth between Palace/space and Abode.

Somehow I'd prefer it seperated - the "jumping around" in FQ did not work for me. I lost orientation in time and space - and the characters lost personality, depth and variety.
