| The British athlete and actor played the part of Darth Vader in the original "Star Wars" trilogy. (The role was voiced by James Earl Jones.) ___________________________________________________ | |

As well as Kenny Baker, the original R2D2, who passed in 2016 at 81. I remember seeing the first Star Wars movie in 1977. Years later, I realized why Darth Vader resonated with audiences of the time. Many of the adults either fled, survived, or served in Europe during the Nazi regime. The character probably sparked many conversations with children and grandchildren. Sorry I don't have a link to an old story about David Prowse. He was visiting a friend's store when he asked to use the restroom. Seeing a Darth Vader/Star Wars poster in the restroom, he promptly autographed it with the words, "Darth Vader Peed Here." ___________________________________________________

I think Lucas wanted to somehow preserve the tale of WW2 for future generations by making these films. Which of course makes Disney the WRONG people to get a hold of it....
