Grab Bag June 2016

All stories, poems, lyrics and art, must be ElfQuest related (not necessarily the ElfQuest canon characters, we all know and love; but take place within the "ElfQuest" Universe). Stories/poems/lyrics must contain all elements, while art just needs to contain at least one:

Ah, that one was clever!

Clever indeed ... obscure enough to stand for almost every birth among the Sunfolk.

I'm sure who is born that day, tho ^^ ... and it it were not by cryptic Redhead the last line would be: "Let the desert rose bloom."

Now, who said anything about a birth?

But I can see how it could be interpreted as such. Especially considering what a specific character's birth heralded.

Ha! "Birth" was actually my first thought.

... and then I "realized" that it is about Leetah's birth ...



... to notice now that it is about the much more general birth of nature
... and that I've ignored the headline!

Even BETTER.

Of course it could be about the Festival of Flood and Flowers which heralded Leetah's birth.
It could also be about the Festival which saw Wing and Behtia Recognize.
Or about the one which ended with the birth of Serrin - even though that one was kinda disrupted
Or... just about any random Festival.

Took a break and did another mini challenge to kick this out before my 15 minutes was up...

Several seasons had come and gone, and the once young Buren was now a sprawling, sweating, young man of twenty one seasons. He helped cut down larger trees, move larger rocks that the elves of Stonehowl could not, due to his massive frame.

Other things had changed at Stonehowl as well. Shadow had led a small band of tribe members on another exploration of the surroundings areas and discovered a small tribe of Elves down by the River, who bore several similarities, according to Buren, to fishing villages that he was familiar with. One of those changes was that Snowcloud had decided to remain with these fisher-elves, who called themselves the Silver FishHolt.

She would send messages about how she was, by elves who traveled back and forth, during trades for various supplies. Every now and then, the two tribes would come to celebrate and dancing, and combine tribes for one night.

Several female elves fawned over Spearclaw, and his rich, bronze tan that he had gotten as a former tribe member of the Pridewalkers, but still, after so many seasons, his only true interest was Stillbreeze. He did not decline the company of many of those elves; but even during the most intimate moments, his mind still drifted to her.

Echo had met a female there that had great power to shape water; and whenever he was around her, he felt his body tingle. He could not tell if it was because of his ability to pick up “echoes” of where magic had been used; or if he had strange feelings for this young maiden named Waterspout. On the latest celebration, he had given her a rose, his cheeks blushing as red as its pedals.
