Did you know I have more than one Elfquest AU? Three, in fact! xD Sanctuary is far less "crack" than the Return to Innocence AU, so it could theoretically someday become a published Worldpool story (though I still don't really expect that to happen).

Suppose the Wolfriders never got burned out of the Holt, and never trekked across the desert to Sorrow's End?

What if Cutter and Leetah never met and never Recognised?

What if they never set out to find the Palace, and instead remained in their pristine untouched forest for eights upon eights of turns of the seasons?

I redrew an old-ish (2012? geez, the AU is that old??) bit of concept art: here's Cutter, some 500 years after the Children of Gotara die out. Happy, still in the "Now" of wolf-thought (for the most part), lifemated and with a cub who will be the next chieftain someday.

Here's Cutter's daughter Sunhowl. I think of her a bit as "the Ember that never was". She doesn't have a magic-sensitive twin brother; it's just her. Despite the peaceful human-free existence she's led, she knows that someday she'll succeed her father as chieftain, and she takes her future role very seriously.

I guess this counts as a "promo poster"…? Sunhowl and Thiarek, destined to meet because the Recognition that should have happened between Cutter and Leetah just got kicked down the road a bit. Very Happy
