Some years ago, I wrote a poem that featured the elves of Elfquest in a panic. They were aware that Final Quest had ended and were unsure of their future.

This version of the elves live in-between The World of Two Moons and our own. A strange Meta existence, that is very much inspired by "A Day in The Life" comics.

Here are my own imaginings that attempt to capture snippets of this inbetween.

Hair – part one (Nightfall)
Takes places sometime before Final Quest 13

“I want an agent!” Nightfall roared, “40 plus years of pointed ears and we still don’t have agents?”

“Calm down beloved,” Redlance said coming behind her, “Why does your new scarf have you so upset?”

Nightfall sighed, “I don’t want to have to show everyone this!” She yanked her scarf, hair and all from her head.

“The Pini’s had better order me a new wig before the next issue comes out. I look like Ekuar!” She glanced over at the aged elf, “No offence”

“None taken,” Ekuar replied, “I think you look lovely.”

“Old Flirt,” She replied as he chuckled.

Hair - Part two (Winnowill)
Takes place before the debut of EQ

“Wendy…?”

“What is it now Winnow-wick—ahem, Winnowill?”

Winnowill frowned at Elf-mom’s condescending tone. If this human hadn’t created her… and was thus technically her mother… “I cannot wear my hair like this. I am getting tension headaches.”

Elf-mom pouted, “Aw, but it’s so cute! Can’t you heal yourself?”

Yes. “Winnowill sighed, “But they keep returning. Besides, is cute how you wish to portray me to your people?”

Elf-mom thought for a moment. “No, I suppose not, but I want someone to have pigtails. I just love drawing them.

Shenshen poked her head into the room excitedly. “Me! Pick me!”
