Not everyone has read the comics, but I would think most have seen the movies? What do you think? Of the Avengers (or even the stand alones, Thor, Captain America, etc) whether comic or movie or cartoon related?

Love the movies. I've read a couple of the comics as a kid, but the movies fill a nice niche. Would love to see another Hulk movie.

The avengers is a great mix. The actors that portrays seem to be a really good fit as well.
Yes, and they all get along VERY well (on screen). Makes it very easy to believe the chemistry is there!

I see what you did there.

Now that brings back some memories Tymber. I watched the Avengers series as a kid. Mostly Saturday fare, but it broke the day up really well with the Godzilla movies.

Actually PCoquelin was the one who posted that. I just replied to what he had posted.

Thanks for the correction, but it still brought back memories.

Well many women like the THOR movies... well, because the actor is gorgeous. I am straight and I think he's one of the most beautiful men in the world.

I loved the Avengers movie and I quite liked the movies before it too, but I have to say that Asgard and all of its inhabitants was nothing like I had imagined! I remember learning about this in first grade (I was six then), so while I wasn't disappointed, it was very different from what I remembered.

Yes it helps that Chris Hemsworth is quite good looking. Even in long hair.
I thought that the rendition of Asgard was wonderfully done. It showed a world that is advanced and beautiful.

Yes, Chris Hemsworth is beautiful. Long hair and all. Body. Smile. Accent. The dude has it all. I've never been envious of another man, really, until I saw him as THOR.
As for Asgard - I don't know how I feel about the flying ships and laser beams. I mean, it is what it is - but when I saw the Dark Elves shooting laser guns initially, I was like, "By Valhalla! What is going on here?"
I loved the movies, regardless. But I feel that Marvel was too scared to go with them using magic, thinking the crowds would think it was "too hookey." So they went with the science fiction route...

Ah, but what we call Science Fiction now at one time would have been considered magic at another distant time.

True, but when you think of "gods" worshiped by Vikings... I don't imagine Pew-Pew! laser guns.

No, that maybe true, but then again. We have no idea what the Vikings saw. We only have descriptions from their point of view and reference to guide us.

Pity Hel didn't intervene. I was fond of her priestesses throwing a coin made of jet and salt into the crowd, thus shutting every voice down and having hands raised in hope or despair...

Hah Well, he is, but in a generic kinda way, of course, I wouldn't throw him out of the furs, but I liked Loki more, guess I'm kind of a sucker for the badboys/emo-boys like so many others. But I like the Norse mythology ( of course ) and superheroes mixed with that, awesome! If I have to judge who is the hottest guy in that universe, Thor would only came in 3 place, after Tony Stark and Star-lord The women on the other hand...hard! But Scarlet witch is a strong number one. Hope the new movies will feature more strong leading females.

History is definitely FAR grimmer... ...than any series or movie.
You, by chance, watch the show VIKINGS on the History Channel? (They may or may not have it where you're at, since I don't even know if you reside in the States or not)
