Happy Thanksgiving!

I know being in different countries, we all have different holidays, and most on different dates, but today in the USA it's Thanksgiving, and I just wanted to wish you all a happy one!

I also wanted to share one of the things I made for the family dinner...    A cheese/cracker snack tray idea I saw online and it came out really cute



Although it was a hit and everyone loved it, the poor thing was devoured within an hour!  

Anyway, I go right back to work tomorrow, so I won;t be back until Saturday, which I plan to get my RP replies up then (if my laptop doesn't fry up by then!)

Thanksgiving was wonderful this year. No long drive, just a short trip to my parents place. Ate sensibly. Yes the kid packed it away.

This gear was odd for me. I spent the day away from my family and was with my cousin's family. His wife was recovering from surgery and I had helped him recover her from a bad place she had been sent to to recover, but they were doing more harm than good. Anyway, Im glad I was able to help out, but wish I could have been home too. Of course, if I had been home, Thanksgiving would have been overshadowed by my father in law going to the hospital. He is doing OK, but has pnumonia. Round and round it goes.

Anyway, hope y'all had a better turkey day and a great upcoming holiday season!

I'm grateful that everyone survived your Thanksgiving, Trollhammer! It's good you were able to get your cousin's wife to a better place- it sounds as if you were in the right place this year. And I'm glad to hear that your father-in-law is on the path to recovery. It sounds like a lot of problems hit your family all at once- but no tragedy.

@Kindred- that looks delish! I don't think we've ever had such a pretty platter at our house- it's usually just chips and dip! I can't blame them all for scarfing it!

We had a fairly relaxed holiday. We went to my mom's- and it was a potluck. I made sweet potatoes. My sister brought salad. My other sister made desert. My mom's boyfriend made mashed potatoes- and my mom made the green beans and turkey. We had our usual crowed of latchkey friends over- and our uncle, aunt and a gaggle of cousins. My boyfriend brought his mother. It was really nice. With everyone sharing the work- it ended up being pretty laid back. And I know all the things I'm thankful for this year.

And a Happy Birthday this week, to my late father, who would have been a hundred years old.

I'm glad to hear Thanksgiving went well for all of you. We had a nice quiet one with just the immediate family-- though now my daughter no longer lives at home, it felt like having company and being just us, all at the same time!

In the midst of moving over here, and we didn't really get a chance to celebrate even though we're not exactly the turkey types (I did a lavender rosemary garlic pork tenderloin this year, and some ginger honey roasted carrots).
