The suspect managed to bring 23 weapons with thousands of rounds.

When will we have meaningful gun control in this country,

I'm not going to get into politics on this one, except to say that mass killings in America tend to follow earlier examples, whether it's guns, bombs, or some other weapon. (Copycat killings may not follow more elaborate schemes that require accomplices, though.) People want to be the star of their own killing spree, even if they don't survive it.

The media tends not to pay as much attention to narratives that don't follow the story that people want to hear, such as the one about the white Tennessee parishioner who used his own gun to hold the church shooting suspect. The perpetrator was black, and the one victim who died was white.

I suspect that high-rise hotels across America will impose their own gun control policies, for fear of litigation.
