| Happy delayed new year to all!!! Hope you are doing more or less well. Feeling a bit angsty my boss has been so on and off lately, seems like she and boss daughter are on major personal conflict between them, and this affect is as well. So now I am afraid of angering her. It's just that one og the computer screen at our pay desk in the shop was acting up and didn't work so I coudn't use the touch screen on it. I don't know what I could have done wrong with it, I have done nothing different from before, but I fear she might blame me for it. | |

| And there's a very bright smile, G0lden! That's great news. I wish you an ongoing complete recovery. *hugs* A fast one! Happy New Year, Rainflower! I hope the comp / screen will just work again tomorrow. *crossing fingers and toes* Good luck! (Have you considered that the screen is just getting old? IT's likely no one to blame at all.) Feeling tired - glued to TV last night. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert. | |

| Thank you, Embala. It could be... it is 5 years old at least. The problem is that they had an accedent with one of the screens at the other shop before Christmas, and they had to but a new one. That one got a crack, but I don't know what happened with ours. Thing is, they cost 20 000, and the economical odds aren't actually good now. And with her mood... | |

| I forgot to tell, but... HURRAY! Screen is all well My collegue fixed it!!! Feel mentally exhausted. And a little pissed!!! A customer by phone was a bitch. I seriously did my best, considering we were out of white roses I offered her another chiose, and she gave me the impression that as long as I made it looking pretty, it was okay. So I sendt white tulips instead, since it was white color she had picked in the first place, with some greenery between to make it look extra nice. But nooo, she insisted I had offered her another kind of rose, and argued with my collegue about this. The stupid part was that the person who was getting the flowers was very satisfied, so there really should be no issues. Really | |

| Rainflower I am glad the computer screen thing worked out!
I am happy because this week was so draining. I thought I'd not get anything done this weekend. But I had a great day! I did a little fanart of Jessica Jones. I'm thinking of maybe doing more. And I did some storyboarding on my comic. I was stuck with the story for a while so it's great that I had some new ideas. ___________________________________________________

| I am pissed off. I work in health care and in the past few weeks, I keep running into clients who get vistors who won't wear face masks. They all think they have a very good reason for this. And I am sick of it. Why do people have to make my job so complicated? ___________________________________________________ | |

Even my bosses aren't using them correctly, and they think they can use the excuse that 'no one's wearing them correctly anyway' as an excuse to get away with it. Daughter boss is the worst, here the other day she didn't wear anything at all, and claimed she 'keept distance.' There should be other offers for people with things like breathing problems and stuff or if they feel claustrophobic. I myself have discovered that I can't use facemasks for too long since I start yawning so much and get a headache because of lack of oxygen. But I use a screen that cover the whole face, including my eyes, and helps with the breathing problem. I just was it everytime I leave it. Is this an offer your place could recomand, Sifra?

| I'm feeling nervous, excited and very happy! I accepted a new job today and tomorrow I get to give notice to my nastybad employer! Over the past few years I interviewed with over 20 companies and kept facing one rejection after another. Not to mention how many I applied for that I never heard back from. I told myself to stay strong but I was getting pretty frustrated and thank the High Ones for my lifemate who was so supportive, especially during those dark days when my job was beating me down. Nine years of my life I gave to those idiots. The first few were so very good...we did great things and I made some wonderful friends. And then it went slowly and steadily down the toilet and culminated with me getting the first bad performance review of my 20+ year career and being demoted down to an entry level role. That was the final kick in the teeth that lit a fire under my butt and caused me to try a more aggressive job search. And it worked. Time to move on, and never look back! | |

Is this an offer your place could recomand, Sifra? The people who refuse to wear the face masks don't have anything wrong with them. And two of them were just there for 10 minutes. The company I work for can't offer special face masks to everybody, or give them more information. The info available on the news, and on so many other places. And If they want to visit their relatives during the 2 hours I am there to clean the place they'll just have to wear a face mask or else I have permission to leave. Not an ideal situation, but nothing is ideal at the moment. But thanks for thinking with me. (Do you say it like that in english?) I appreciate it Rainflower! Congratulations Icetooth! I admire you for your determination for all the job hunting. ___________________________________________________

| Fantastic Icetooth! Make this now job a one to love! I can't wait until I graduate and I can actually start looking for more permanent full time work. I Just had to jump in on this little thread about the masks because some of this stuff makes me so angry. I know three groups of people. The majority of those people sit in the category of we have to wear masks so we wear them. Then you have the stupid people that don't wear masks because "It inflicts on our freedom." I have 'friends', that go around with special papers that look like a Doctor signed them, but they're just being butts. Then you have those that actually can't wear masks. I have a friend that literally can't, she wore a mask for 15 minutes and then spent the next 20 hours trying to calm down from her panic attack. She goes to the grocery store, (and thats the only place she goes and as little as possible at that) at six in the morning to avoid people and she still gets harrassed. People get in her face, not the other way around, and put her health at risk, by not letting her distance, and I work with these idiots! Luckely, the store she shops at just put in curbside pick up as an option. Those people that refuse to wear masks make it very hard for those who can't and make it so that some people believe that the people who can't don't really exist. (Some people CAN'T wear turtle necks!!!! and that's a mental health issue, they exist!!!) My little rant... ___________________________________________________ | |

My little rant... By all means, feel free to join, Evie I probably am something between the first and the last category you mentioned, eccept I don't get claustrophobic, but yawn too much and get a headache of using it too much, but use the face screen as an alternate. Daughter boss is the last category, but I get pissed off because she doesn't use the screen as an alternate, or trying something else. There are alternates but when you don't even try, it's hard for the rest. There the other day she even dared to claim the shields were no good, but the way she and the people in the other store uses facemasks, under the nose and everything, pullingbit down to eat and drink she has nothing to say You're welcome, Sifra. It's pray things get a little easier soon. Take care of yourself.

| I feel a little... not sure how to describe it... dissapointed of myself. Unhappy?
At thursday, I came to work the evening shift, and after a while my boss popped in, and she started picking on things in the store. I tried to explain that it wasn't me who opened that day, but she told me that I nevertheless had to be able to see thing like this and do something about it the moment I got to work. In a way I knew this, but lately thing has been so depressing at work because of covid 19 and things getting calm, so I just wasn't able to notice.
Luckly, I did a better job at friday, and she said nothing when she came again that day. I tried to be as effektive as I could despite having a quiet day, and I even got a text from boss of how satisfied she was with the store.
I don't know that's the matter with me, but I don't feel as motivated as before. Daughter boss has actually been sick for a whole year, and still is, but she pops in whenever she feels for it. And this is frustrating for the other store, where my other collegues get depressed because they don't reach out to her expectations, although they really do their best. Then there's my store where the next in command is being physically tired and the other one is not doing all she is supposed to, giving is more work. As soon as she hets the change she goes to make bouqets, which is of course more fun than watering plants and cleaning tables, but it gives the rest of us more work. She's not following our routine, making it less effektive for us. And it doesn't help either that she's got a cancer diagnose as well so next in command and me don't know how to handle it without her breaking down. I could have been okay with her making bouqets at times if only she could do it a bit faster and perhaps plan them a little. They all becomes the same with lot's of mix colors, so they all become alike. And often so expencive.
So there, my little rant. Feeling a little better for lifting my heart.

| Glad you feel better now, Rainflower. And you have reason for it! Sounds like you have rather reason to be satisfied with yourself, judging from your working report. *hugs* It's the circomstances that are dissatisfying for many reasons, not your doing. Think about it a moment - would you have a "Thank you!" and kind words for a coworker who does what you do? Give yourself the same credit. Be nice to yourself, Rainflower. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert. | |

I so much understand. And I am happy that you overcame this and found something new and I really wish that this will be fulfilling and a lasting thing. It is so sad that we people depend so much on the jobs we do. In so many countries you're just forced to accept even shitty jobs so you won't get run-over by the big truck called "living in capitalism". And some of these jobs tear away your vitality. And then, the columns of job life... if they'd just ever match all together. 1. Salary. I don't need to be a millionare, for sure, but please, I want to be FREE of my WORRIES. Money doesn't make you screeching happy, but it takes away a lot of your sorrows. The lack of money is bad. 2. contents, what you do: It should fulfil you, make sense, improve the world somehow. 3. colleagues: Good realtions. Often you see these folks for a great part of the wake day, so there should be a good working climate. 4. Work-Life-Balance. Differes for everyone, but there must be enough spare time for all your other hobbies, family, friends and whatnot. Yes, I know how it is to apply and apply and not even hear or read from these enterprises, or fitting a job description near-perfectly but not even being invited for an interview. Pre-discrimination because of your gender, age, heritage, your current place of living and so on. And you don't ever get a reason why you were rejected. And you hardly ever know before what awaits you. But yes, sometimes it just needs a kick, it still doesn't hurt enough to be active on your own, because one clings to the perceived "safety" of having a job at all and it still doesn't hurt enough. @Rainflower: I wish you a lot of strength to get past these times. Any maybe, if all this COVID is over ... maybe things will relax, your you can get a new "deck of cards" for your work-life?

| @jaRf, you are so right about the collegue part. Before the flower business I had a cleaning job in a hospital. It could be a shitty job at times, but I really had the best of collegues. And same thing at the former store I worked. It was great and I loved working there before the boss retired and we got new boss/owner and a witch for a next-in-command. Your collegues has so much to say when it comes to comforts at work. Guys, I thank wholeheartedly you for support. It was tough the other week, but I had some time to let it sink in, and for some reason this last week I managed to find ballance again, or felt like I had uploaded energy. There was this day where I had only nice customers, and it made it so much easier. So depite wearing mask all day I smiled, and felt happy for allot. And the next day I was set to do one of the things I like most; weekend production! But then again... I don't know how to feel right now. Cause now, because of this new mutated covid-19 virus they are shutting down allot of buisness, including our shops. It's only for a little while, but I still feel a little tense not knowing how things will go. WHAT IF WE MISS OUT MOTHERS DAY AND VALENTINE??? WE LIVE ON THOSE DAYS!!! | |

| I don't understand the shutdown on flower shops and book stores either - there is no close contact to customers like at hairdressers for instance but flowers are important to keep up spirits during the lockdown. A brutal Chinese lockdown is not possible in democratic countries but some measurement of what's needed and what's not would be due. In most stores distancing rules will work just fine, better than in many food discounters.
Not sure a total lockdown would work with the populace - shut everything down for two weeks. Everything - save for police forces, ambulance and firefighters. Even handing each household a 2-week food pack would prove impossible.
But it would curb the virus. ___________________________________________________ 「からだの傷ならなおせるけれど心のいたではいやせはしない」

| @Stormcatcher we tried today getting to work. We kept the shop closed, but we did deliveries and watered plants and did practical things. People still order by phone and e-mail. Were gonna try a kind of pick-up buy method and place the product outside the shop. And it's not like were gonna be bored cause during lockdown boss wants us to polish the shop to keep us busy. Painting, cleaning and stuff. So far it seems like it's only for a week, but we don't know. *Hug Embala back* | |
