| Hmmm. I might be able to cook something up? As for a suggestion? Bonding? As in getting to know each other better.

| First Snow Can be either first snow of the year, or someone experiencing snow for the first time. Or someone experiencing snow for the first time which happens to be the first snow of the year.

| Noooot really, he's more like a...mild nuisance in the thing I'm trying to write up. At least that's what Uli classifies him as. I'm sure he'd be intensely insulted at the 'mild' part. ___________________________________________________ 'We're all broken, in different ways, in varying degrees.'

| So far, we're up to 5 elements, with just four more days to go... I'm open to more elements!
So far, the elements are:
A Gift Freedom Waiting Bonding First Snow (Can be either first snow of the year, or someone experiencing snow for the first time)

| The month of December is almost over! Shall we begin recommending new elements?
If so - I'd like to recommend:
"A New Beginning"

| Very appropriate for the new year ahead. You are aware that "New beginnings" was the first element for the very first grab-bag here? Of course one can always start anew. ^^ I'll think of an element ... and of a December banner as soon as the calendars don't claim all my thoughts and time anymore. How about Hammer's suggetion? Discussions more or less agreed to go for it in January. - TrollHammer wrote:
- Had a talk with Embala the other day about a thought: how about an annual "grab bag" challenge?
The thought is, at a yet to be determined point in the year, an "Annual Grab Bag" thread would be opened with a list, by month, of all of the elements given for that year. A writer, artist, or otherwise would each select a single element from each month to make their work piece from. Other than the difference in source and quantity of elements (up to 12, depending on the year's participation in GBs), all rules and whatnot would be the same as a monthly.
My thought is not to make a huge challenge for everyone but to have it be a toolbox of inspiration, with each person able to choose their own twelve favorite elements from the year from a list that could be well over 50, and just see what comes out of it.
Further, I propose that the first annual GB does not have to coincide with the first GB of the site (though it could): it can be any convienient time of the year for the first one. The only preference so far is that it isnt during the holidays: Embala would not be able to participate during the event calender. Im going to also assume that easter time is also on the "preferred not at this time" list.
The months I've figured were possibilities were: January (beginning of the year, after advent, before Easter season) November (NaNoWriMo time, not sure if this coincides with advent prep time though) First grab bag for the site month (have to look it up. Gives a full 12 months for the first one).
Any thoughts? Anyone want to do this? ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| Sure. So grab all of the elements suggested in the past year - and use 12 of them?
That's going to make for some long stories!

| One of each grab-bag would make ... 8 this time. Grab-bags started in May ... 8 would be very appropriate for a start. ^^ ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert. | |

| XD ... elements are not supposed to be essential for the story, right? ^^
And keep in mind - picture artist will do fine with ONE element ... or an illustration for a contribution. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| Except for you... you need to either make a collage using ALL of the elements listed, or one image for each element for each month. But this is only because you're awesome and have nothing better to do between Advent and Easter! (Ok, Im totally joking about doing all that, but not joking about you doing an awesome job whatever you end up doing). If I were an artist, Id just look at the element pool as a whole and see if anything speaks to me, and go with it. Do what you like! ___________________________________________________ | |

| I'm going to open it up early as I can't guarantee anyone will be around on the first to open it, and I just happen to have computer time ATM.
I'm going to add a note to direct questions here, as there may be some since this will be a little different.
I also realized that if we don't have separate Annual and Monthly Grab Bags for January that there will only be 11 monthly's for each annual. This is just fine, I'm just pointing it out. If others are feeling really energetic and want to do a monthly January GB, we have a few days for element suggestions.
Here's a thought: anyone in favor of having a January monthly GB on top of the 2015 Annual GB, post an element. If we get over 4 elements by the 1st, we'll have a January Monthly GB. I'm always game for more, so I'll throw one in: Something Out of the Ordinary. ___________________________________________________

I'm suggesting change. ___________________________________________________ Thanks to Embala for the lovely banner! The quote belongs to Scooter.

| I still want to ... Want that the grab-bags go on. Want to be part of it again. Why not suggesting
want to really want to achieve something, want to reach a goal, want to make something function, want to make a difference... would this be okay? Or simply want to ... ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| So far we have for February: A New Beginning (by @Tymber) - suggested for January. Should it count in?
