| I have just made an emergency trip to the vet. I've been so busy that I didn't notice my guinea pigs teeth had grown too long until my daughters said something about it. By then it was 6 o clock on friday so we had to hurry to get to the last consulting hour before they all close down for the weekend. It was raining very hard and we had to go by bike so we were soaking wet, and my youngest has missed her bedtime (which she doesn't mind ) but we saved the guinea pig so it was all worth it! ___________________________________________________ | |

| Yeah for guinea pig! I'm happy you've managed in time, Sifra, and guinea pig will have a good weekend. I bet your youngest will remember the day happily as an adventourous one. ^^ ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert. | |

| I'm looking over my Facebook and wanting to defriend a couple of people that I once considered friends, and who have become alarmingly xenophobic. These were people I really truly considered friends, and that I worked with, helping others. They've become more and more insular over the past several years and their 'statuses' are reflecting this weird isolationist stance. Even though I'm isolated physically without a car a lot of the time, I was raised in an environment surrounded by people from many different countries, religions, ethnicities, etc. It's always been so much fun being raised this way. My mother worked for an embassy as a liaison to many other places, and we had people over for these loud dinner parties where they would all clash, eat, argue, fight, and laugh while they ate and drank and joked. Meanwhile, I'd be trying to fall asleep on the couch because I didn't want to go to bed - I loved hearing all the chaos of so many different opposing perspectives even if I didn't understand it. It became my foundation. And the older I get, I realize this little snippet of my life has shaped my view so much - it makes me wonder at people who just cannot get over themselves, cannot live and let live. It's such a gift of life we have to be able to intermingle and learn from each other. For others to turn it so ugly and closed off, it confuses me, saddens me, and now makes me want to defriend the people I once valued. Am I no better than they are to want to do so? I can 'tolerate' what they do, but I have no place for it in my life. Am I hypocrite then, to say I can't do it? That I can't tolerate their intolerance. Does that make me, in turn, intolerant too? I'm so confused ___________________________________________________ Thank you for the beautiful banner, Embala

| You don't have to tolerate racism, sexism or xenophobia. That's like tolerating getting punched in the face, or tolerating watching a friend get punched in the face, because you don't want to participate in violence. You don't have to hit back-- and if you don't you are a better person for sure-- but you certainly don't have to tolerate it just to consider yourself a peaceful person. | |

| Good point, Lunakat. Yeah, I don't even feel like engaging in it. It's more like cut and be done, it's too draining to do otherwise. ___________________________________________________ Thank you for the beautiful banner, Embala | |

| Oh your poor guinea pig, Sifra. I hope it's okay by now. Great job cycling in pooring rain by that time.
Hope to see that art, Shadowpath. Sounds like an awesome pic
I'm waiting for my hair to dry up from a shower. And for inspiration to continue a painting I've been working on. | |

Hmmm, the idea that it was actually a fake coup organized by Erdogan himself makes a lot of things make sense. ___________________________________________________ 'We're all broken, in different ways, in varying degrees.'
