All I want for Christmas....

Figured Id start a little thread where you can post your hopes for Christmas, be it literal, figurative, satirical, sarcastic, or some form of venting or other insight into the holidays.

For me, all Id like for Christmas is a little respect in RL. Not to be a downer, but I had a little awakening earlier today: that truth be told, I could care less about any sort of material gift, if only I could go through a year without being treated like the village idiot by the close ones around me. Just a little respect, for a small example: if I say I saw footprints in the snow I just shoveled, maybe there is the chance I actually saw them, maybe I perhaps did not actually imagine them, and need an alternate explanation of what Im trying to describe. If I could just have that little bit of respect, everything else would be just fine. (I realize this sounds silly, petty, or some other moronic thing, but its just the very small example that got me to realize that this is what I would like this year. There are much larger examples in my life I dont feel comfortable explaining).

Enough of my rambling, what do you want for Christmas?

Ah, Em, too bad we live so far apart. You would be welcomed with open arms with my parents, son and I. My son has already suggested that a friend of my parents join us for Christmas. He lost his beloved wife in July and he joined us with two other single friends of theirs and all of us had a great time.

What I want for Christmas is to get through this new project until I can get a better job. Plus to pay off my co-pay from my surgery.

It's not that I'd have no place to go for Christmas. It's not that I don't have possibilities and kind invitations - I could even choose. The problem is more "in my mind" ... it's hard to FEEL welcomed and happy. Thus my wish for Christmas for a change within myself.

And ... I'm pretty sure I will be at such a place this year. sunny
