Just something I've been working on for the last few weeks
The worry before Christmas
Twas the day before Christmas and the elves were filled with worry
It looked like unemployment soon and things were looking dreary
With no money in their pockets this Christmas could be their last
Would they find other employment or were their good times past
Ember and suntop were sleeping with chop licker the pup
The day was now bright, it wasn't time to be up
But cutter and leetah were now wide awake
Going over the books to see what was at stake
Dreamberry wine, since it was quite expensive
They wondered how long before pike would get pensive
Then the beautiful trinkets elf maidens wore in their hair
Their could be an uproar as they thought these made them more fair
Then a noise made them jump up from the check book
They rushed right outside to see why their tree shook
It was kindly old treestump with axe in hand
He was chopping up fire wood far across the land
Beside treestump lay logs he had chopped with his skill
Enough that ten furnaces he could easily fill
"It seems to me," he said for them to hear
"if we all work hard we won't have to fear
Though cutter agreed there was still much apprehension
Still filled with concern he wished for a pension
With the pinis soon putting their work on the shelf
He worried he could become a toy making elf
Then leetah and he returned to their tree
A warning to treestump to let certain trees be
Then inside the tree there was a bright light
It was Wendy Pini, her visit such a rare sight
"You must not need worry," she told them both then
"I'm sure that someday I'll 're-pick up my pen"
So Cutter conceded that she should retire
But now realized inspiration could still strike like a fire
Then Wendy was gone just as quick as she came
Cutter and leetah's attitudes no longer the same
They snuggled up close and hugged each other in a way
That silently said have a Merry Christmas day
