Almost a year later after my father's passing, I am actually reminded that this thread exists.
Thank you for all the support and condolences. I have mostly done all of my mourning, but there is still a lot of things to deal with (alongside with the bureaucracy things).
Sometimes I think I see my father, like, catch a glimpse in public transportation, or while shopping for groceries.
He was not the greatest person, but there was still a lot of things that were left unsaid.

I still see my step-father in my dreams and he's been gone several years now (as best as I can recall, as I mentioned elsewhere, my sense of time's passing is... flakey).
It's like, I know he's gone, even in my dreams, but he's still *there*, still a part of who and what I am. I like to think that he's checking in on me and I know that I'm a better person for knowing him.
I don't know if I'm *ever* going to really be able to heal the wound, though, that's the loss of my father mere *months* after losing my step-father. That's a HUGE gaping crack in the universe that I'm not sure how to approach.
You have my sympathies and my best wishes. I think the best any of us can do is just take each day as it comes.
