Text:
It’s been thousands of years since the hidden key in Cutter’s sword, New Moon, was first used. The Wolf Chief’s followers are stunned as the goal of their mysterious new quest is revealed. Elsewhere, Shuna feels a resurgence of the warrior spirit she once embraced as she and her elfin allies prepare Iceholt’s native humans for invasion. Bonds of love and loyalty deepen, and Cutter’s leadership is needed more than ever. But is he, after all he has endured, up to the task?

Cutter hesitantly, carefully approaches the towering entry. With trembling, bloodied hands, he holds up the key and it glints back quietly, secretly, whispering, beckoning. If I'm not ready now, Cutter thinks, I never will be. He gulps, fits the key into its allotted place. The door rumbles and gives a groan as he pushes it open.... He steps inside to complete darkness, then hears a small titter within. Ssssh, a voice admonishes. "H-hello?" Cutter calls out, confused. A flood of lights come on suddenly and he finds himself in front of an enormous cake.
"Surprrrrrrrise!"

I really like this cover somehow. Maybe because it's the first cover without a face on it? And it is just one single scene, not a collage or group picture...

I think it has by that point. Maybe Cutter - being perhaps still slightly loopy - can only say that he wants Two-Edge, but not why.

One thing I like is that the humans of Iceholt - or at least some of them - are going into battle against the Djunlanders. I was hoping that they'd have a collective "No, fuck you! You're not invading our home!" I don't even care if there's any "We must defend the good spirits!" mentality involved; those people are having their homes threatened by a bunch of foreign invaders! Yeah... Shuna is technically a foreigner too, but she seems to have gone pretty much native. Another interesting thing is the fact that some of Shuna's grandchildren might be fighting, according to my calculations her oldest grandson would be in his mid-twenties now. Of course her granddaughter is ten, so she hopefully won't be involved.

Actually I hope there would be anotehr solution than a battle ... those firearms are disastrous. Fighting to protect their homes - youes. Would be awesome when they could be successful with a clever idea, a trick ... a trap.

What I'd love to see is this:
The Djun's war fleet is about to land. Shuna, her family, and the... five humans who don't think she's just a crazy old lady look on in horror. The elves prepare to flee for their lives in the Palace.
And then, the defiant cry of CAM TRIOMPE, BITCHES! echoes over the bay, as he and his merchant fleet cut through the warships like the English Armada through butter.

So the whole Timmoron/Two Edge connection feels like a thing every time I consider it. Two halflings, getting to the bottom of their natures and possibly the entire nature of their race. Intense psychotherapy needed. No doubt Weatherbird* would be part of this if it were a thing, and I really want it to be.
*Come on, Wingthing, you know she'd be all kind of perfect for that
As an aside, more Shenshen. I know I said it before, but seriously. I miss her.

Maybe we'll see Shenshen at Shuna's side, both fighting for the culture Shuna peacefully and successfully assimilated into.

Doesn't Shuna live in a small cabin with her son? Away from others?

Has Cutter just accepted he's Timmain? I kinda got knocked out by the whole 'Winnowill is suddenly forgiven' thing and only got half of what was going on.

Don't start that up again lol
I'm not. I just want a clarification. I swear on Odin's eye.
Odin's eye!
I think I'm kind of sore about the whole Rogue's Curse thing being canon. It feels like no matter what acts of forgiveness seem to get perceived or given now in FQ, it seems insubstantial, since in the long run it's not going to matter. I mean, in a few hundred years even after the Palace is gone, those two are still going to remain bound into whatever co-dependent Hell they've got themselves into, with Ekuar as their eternal keeper.

Rogue's Curse? That's series where they wander about, deal with humans and Winnowill tells a story about how she 'accidentally' killed Gliders and murdered unborn children right? Always seemed like a very depressing series.
