| Well, we get to keep him one more night, anyway-- and maybe more! The vet didn't think he looked like he'd had a total kidney shutdown. He gave Bandit fluids, anti-nausea and appetite stimulant injections. This might cause him to rally-- the prognosis depends on the blood work, and we won't know until tomorrow. We brought him home and he immediately ate and drank, and has not thrown it back up!
If the bloodwork comes back looking bad, we may still need to put him down, but the vet is hopeful. We may have some more months left with our kitty. As long as he can still live a happy and comfortable life, we will keep him! ___________________________________________________ I'm not old. I've just been young for a very long time...

| You are all so sweet, thank you! Very good news! Bandit is eating and drinking well and is back to his old lively self again already! The results of the blood tests came back, and they said that the kidney disease had progressed, but not a great deal, and that Bandit probably just ate something or caught something that sent him into a downward spiral that his kidney disease prevented him from bouncing back from as a normal cat would. The vet is giving us anti-nausea and appetite stimulant meds to use for the next two weeks, to be sure he doesn't "get behind the 8-ball," as the vet put it, again. But we get to keep Bandit for a while-- maybe even a good long while! So relieved and happy! I'll put up a pic of him and our other cat Trinket (yes, named after you-know-who) soon! ___________________________________________________ I'm not old. I've just been young for a very long time...

Can anyone see it? If not, can someone help me do this right? Wordgazer; tidings and sweetwine to you and yours! What hosting service are you using for your photograph? The BBCode syntax should be the same in any case, but I know there's a trick to it if you're not used to it. Assuming I'm still on the ball about this, the syntax you need to put in a picture you can see should be is (to use a hosted picture of mine on Imgur for example) 'https://i.imgur.com/nxhl0mt.jpg' (which if put into the Address Bar would result in displaying the source picture) The actual linked picture drawn by me is that URL, with the IMG tags at each end (which you were right about) and the picture displays as: I hope my explanation isn't too technical in detail, but more that it's accurate! ^_^ Ruffles and rubs to your wee puddin's! -2Paw. Edit: Aiyah! I can see what happened. You need to add the source filename at the end of your 'https://servimg.com....' link, which would be the graphic (photograph) itself. If you're stuck, I'd be happy to talk you through it piecemeal. ___________________________________________________

| Wordgazer, can it be that the photo is VERY huge? Can you resize it to a smaller seize? (I vaguely remember that I had problems due to "oversized" photos once.) I took the freedom to grab your photo, minimize it and loadit up myself. I hope you don't mind, Wordgazer. Wordgazer's furry family members: Trinket and Bandit The are wonderful cats, wordgazer! *pets and scratches and cuddles* Beautiful couple. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert. | |

Wordgazer, Embala, good afternoon! I'm not familiar with Servimg.com's method for this sort of thing, sorry. I know with Imgur there's a text box displayed on the uploaded image's page that contains a link for cutting and pasting BBCode to display the image. And I think you beat me to it, Embala! ^_^ That's a swell pair of wee fourleggers that're part of your family, Wordgazer! (And thank ye for the kind comment on my self-portrait, Embala, as well as the link fix! ^_^) I'm sorry for the confusion, Wordgazer; I couldn't post the syntax verbose because the Forum would consider it BBCode and attempt to display it. Embala did it perfectly, and you can see the IMG code she used if you Quote-reply her message. Hee, Trinket's 'winking' at the flash. The cats whom my brother and his mate belong to also react to flash photography thus! Thank you for working out the fix, Embala, and thank you Wordgazer for sharing the pic of your two wee puddin's! Cheers, mes amis! -2Paw. ___________________________________________________

Good evening, Holt-sister! Most welcome for what wee bit I did; it was a treat and a pleasure to see your two wee puddin's hale and hearty, equally so that Bandit's in a lot better shape than he might've otherwise been. Hugs, rubs and a sneaked treat to both of your wee bits! The syntax is more or less written in a way that a Forum interprets the characters in a post to link to an external JPEG/PNG online picture, file or just a link that you click on to go to a page off the Forums. It's all good either way; I know how to do the basics (as I enjoy putting up my art, hosted on my Imgur) but I'm not as good as I will be at it eventually. ^_^ Cheers and a warm den, Wordgazer! -2Paw. ___________________________________________________

| All my life I had Companions of Fur (two cats, four guinea pigs, three rats, four gerbils) Feather (a small flock of budgies), Scale (fish) and Chiton (walking stick insects). Then I went to university and I couldn't keep a pet. Two years ago my husband and I moved from a city flat back to the country side and we could finally get a cat (again for me, for him it is/was his first pet), because we had enough space and can let a cat roam free. We went to a pet shelter and it was love on the first sight: A small black, fluffy tomcat with a white spot on his chest... Now he is missing for more than 5 weeks and I was never so heart broken before in my life Is he dead? Is he alive? Is it our fault because we left him to long alone and he run away because he thought his humans abandoned him? (he went missing during our two week holiday trip. We hadn't left him alone for so long before. Our neighbors/landlords/family who live in the same house as we, toke care of him.) Got he trapped (by accident?) and starved because nobody noticed him? Did he find new humans and they didn't report him to the local vets/shelters? He is chipped, tattooed and registered... Got he poisoned or shot? (There are cruel people in this area who do this...) Did he got hit by a car and wasn't found? (We searched the streets and asked the authorities, nothing). Did he jump in a car unnoticed and can't find his way home? How long can I keep the hope alive? I miss you so much... ___________________________________________________ | |

| Awww... he's so precious and so dear to you. I understand how much you miss him, Lurkingcat - and how much you worry. He's a loved family member and he's missed badly. I don't even want to imagine how I'd feel in your case. My friend's family cat "moved out" each time they went on a longer trip. Didn't help that a familiar "grandma" supplied food and offered scratching. After another two week holiday trip she was found in the next but one village by chance only. Some cats are this way ... they long for their Hommin so much that they go on a quest to find them ... or a new one. I hope your little friend will come back. *daumendrück* If not ... consider that he really might have found a new home and someone cares we for him. He's so pretty and sweet ... so easy to fall in love with him. Try to imagine it this way - he has found a new home. *ich drück dich ganz fest* ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert. | |

| Lurkingcat, my heart is with you! Your kitty looks exactly like my parents' old cat, Blackie, who was female but still looks very similar to yours in terms of expression. I'll tell you a story, not about Blackie, but about another cat they had: Her name was Santa (for some reason my siblings when they were younger took to calling her that), and she's always been very much 'her own kitty' in terms of keeping her own counsel. A few years ago she disappeared for something like 7 weeks! My parents live in a somewhat rural area and some people in the area are despicable in their treatment of cats and dogs. So my mother and almost everyone else had given up hope of her coming back and thought she was just gone. By around that 7th week, it was nearing Christmas and my brother (like 22 at the time) kept saying, she's going to come back for Christmas, you'll see. Because she's Santa. Everyone ignored him. Santa was a very old cat (something like 15) and no one thought she'd come back. How surprised do you think we all were when on the 23rd of December we see this limping, scraggly ass cat coming up the driveway? She looked like she was half-starved, still determined, but pretty much half her weight. The whole family came out all happy and took her in to the house, fed her, and kept her in there until she put some weight back on. We figured maybe she'd gotten stuck in someone's garage or something while they were out of town. Who knows. That was 6 or 7 years ago. Santa is about 21 or 22 years old. She's an outdoor cat for the most part but my family brings her inside at night. She's active as ever, still hunts and brings down dragonflies to feel good. Although not too long ago she brought down a dove, which made everyone all upset lol. Yet she ate the entire bird, so they got over it. I'll still never forget how my brother called it and how he said she's be back for Christmas "because she's Santa"... it's stupid but it cracks me up. I'm sorry to be longwinded ...my point is: Hold on to hope. It's important. People are cruel to animals but more often then not, they are also very kind, so you never know. Sometimes cats go on strange little adventures and have little 'rites of passage' which makes them disappear for a while. I hope your baby comes back soon, and he's in my prayers : ___________________________________________________ Thank you for the beautiful banner, Embala | |

| Thank you Embala and Zadzi for your kind words and especially the story of Santa! This warms my heart! Life sometimes truly writes the best stories.
Yesterday someone from the next village (about 2km away) wrote me that he saw Naimo because he recognized the white spot on his chest. We went there but couldn't find the cat. We will try today again. I so hope its him! I know it also might be an other black cat with a white spot because there are so many of this type of cat (they are sometimes called Cat Sìth cat, like the celtic mythological creature), but maybe... ___________________________________________________
