Rant Away Please

KR Wordgazer, I really feel for you, that is a terrible experience! Makes you want to just chuck their stupidity and hypocricy back at them, and still you don't want to sink down to their level. I really do believe you when you say he's one of the smartest and wisest bloggers on the net, but I also fully, wholeheartedly agree with you that he does have responsibility for the commens section on his blog as well. I'm not going to fall into the trap to judge him beforehand, but I am sorely tempted to say something...

But that's just the way I work, I am genetically programmed to throw a hissy fit at even the smallest sign of unfairness!



I would rant about my upcoming exams (and I am good at ranting, I just get my mouth going and then leave it behind), but it just seems so petty compared to what others are going through and besides, I should rather spend the time on actually preparing for said exams.

Who knew China's dynastic history was so complicated? Oh well, I'm hoping for the agrarian revolution and the development of the first civilizations in the world (one of our professor spent seven lectures, out of 14, on the importance of water - he has made his own documentary about it in which he travels across the world, but it is only for personal use and not for sale and has never aired - talk about dedication!)...

Maybe he missed it, as you said. Or maybe he was deliberately not escalating things. It is at least possible that this post that you find hypocritical is a sneaky side-parable meant to try to nudge his followers to be more like that.

Me too! I had a terrible one all day yesterday and then today it's just a dull, lame migraine.

People are dumb. I love my clients, but sometimes. Eeeesh. I just wonder, when I get this kind of thing:

None of my clients know I'm Egyptian by birth and i have been getting these questions lately. It's very entertaining, but also....yeeesh! Yikes.

The library is not a playground for children!

Things at work are getting... disappointing as far as benefits go. Things were recently changed, seemingly for the better, but as time has passed its gotten a lot like this...

As I'm sure many of us did, I made an order at Cafe Press for a last chance of ordering EQ items there. I also ordered some Girl Genius stuff. I waited for the parcel... waited some more. Last Monday, the post had left me a note saying I had received a large parcel, and to come get it from the kiosk that doubles as our local post office.

So I went to the post office the following day. They pointed to me the dates in the note, stating that I should have fetched it before the 22th, and because I hadn't, it had been returned to sender. It was the 25th, and I had received the note on the 24th. I told them that and they gave me a number to call.

So I called the number and explained. They apologized, admitted the error was theirs, and told me to contact the sender.

So I emailed Cafe Press. They replied promptly, but told me that they could only re-send me the Girl Genius stuff, not the EQ stuff because they had no right to sell it anymore. They returned the cost of my EQ items to my paypal account. I don't know why they can't just send the already existing items back to me, but it seems they can't.

So, since I got my money back, I can't really ask the postal service for compensation. But I'm extremely annoyed that I won't be getting those EQ items. They were the real reason I made a Cafe Press order in the first place.

I hate our postal "service". Things have been going downhill for a while, they don't get their job done in time, and they just keep firing people for financial reasons.

Sorry to hear that the postal service screwed things up for you Leanan. I had a mail carrier try to stuff one of my eq comics in my mail box by bending the cardboard container end to end. Needless to say I was pissed off and made a complaint to the post master. It has never happened again.

Em, whoever did the coloring of Nightfall is either color blind or an idiot.
