| So... I'm in a bit of a pickle here. We're supposed to stay at home for 14 days if we're having any sort of symptoms, but... I also need food! ___________________________________________________ "When you do what you love best, you shine where you love."Come play the Who Am I game! | |

| I suppose if I'm extra careful it'd be okay. I mean… not like I usually go around coughing people in the face.

| I feel a litte pissed. So we don't have a curfew, but whatever we call social life is restricted. A lot of shops are closed (that are not deemed "system relevant"), sports is closed, cinamas, most restaurant are restricted down to seating orders and the likes and all sorts of conventions postponed or canceled. A car repair shop is closing for 14 days yet and they receive 80% wages and have the days free. (Nice deal). But I have to go to work. Don't visit your friends you used to see weekly or twice weekly, but still you got to go to work. (otoh some routine might keep you on track but on an even different hand I have so much to do at home...) They're closing kindergardens and schools (which is a good idea in terms of health) but parents go crazy how to take care of their children if they still got to work. I know it is kinda short notice also for politics but we need better solutions. And I would've expected that they had plans already for all sorts of catastrophies. Oh, and it looks like back in socialist times in the supermarkets. So much stuff sold out. Anyway people, stay healthy, get well if you need (I have a common cold currently, which is soooo en vogue these days... ), and be friendly with the ones around you. | |

| Yup, you can be so sick so that it runs out of all your holes, have lost a loved one, have your children at home without care, the people around you fall dead, but you still have to go to work. You can see what's more important here than the people, the fucking economy.
jaRf, better not tell anyone that you have acold , oh but...well maybe tell it to your employer, than you may have corona- vacancies. LOL

| Nothing major. Same as everyone else. Just tired. Siblings are all in the vulnerable pop and refuse to listen about social distancing "if they don't feel sick". Work in a call center with upwards of 400 peeps, but I know they won't close us due to what we do (it IS important, I cede that unequivocably) We're actually HIRING right now because someone's gotta take these calls. Work was already a CF *BEFORE* this started blowing up because short-handed and a billion things already going on. (spoiler alert: constant shift flip-flopping doesn't make for a happy Koji.) Feeling scattered for a dozen other reasons. Weather is on crack and wonking out my mood... Just... tired. So very tired. I don't even have the energy to be scared, angry, upset, flailing like a jerked marionette with tangled strings or any other emotion that isn't "Is it Friday yet?" Burnt Out and O Ver It ___________________________________________________

| hang in there Koji Big whoo hoo big wigs meeting today Resort is staying open More lay offs and a lot of people crying I'll still be working tho It's depressing as hell. I absolutely love going to work and love my job, but having to hear about this virus for eight hours straight is seriously wearing on my nerves. All-Day-Long..... And now that they closed the coffee shop and laid off my barista buddy, (who spoils me with free coffee and treats and chitty chat every day) I shall be as cranky as Madcoil and most likely fired by the end of the week ___________________________________________________ Compliments go to Embala for bringing a British cat and an American dog together via Photoshop! chibi cutter compliments of katcombs! And I am highly suspicious if its actually 80% of the wages and if it is, if its gonna stay like this for a long time. You know, the owner still has to pay all the bills (loans, rents, salary etc.), even if there is no income. "Handwerker" (blue collar worker, for you few non-Germans out there are severely hit by this shutdown of social life. They cannot survive for months like people working from a computer screen. Their business, the income of every one of them comes from people asking for their services. Without these requests, their business breaks down. People will become unemployed. Simple as that and this is frightening. - Yeee wrote:

You fail to see, that the people are the economy. Apparently you don't know anyone whose livelihood is threatened by the shutdown, which is lucky for you and your family and friends. But I actually do know people, who will be out of work, unable to pay rent, unable to pay for their daily lives because of this. Yes, it is indeed all about the economy. How do you think food arrives on your table? That's the fucking economy. Obviously, we have to take measures to protect the vulnerable and we have to contain the spread of the virus, but the economy is not some faceless banker in a stock exchange moving billions, the economy that is you and your loved ones. And you should care ___________________________________________________ It's a dolphin!

Cube farms are hazardous. One year we had a nasty flu that was taking people down for over a week circulating the same time as norovirus. We already have an office plague that's been circulating since about September that people have been showing up to work sick with. We're like, how can you tell it's not just whatever has spun up this time? ___________________________________________________

| They did it! They did not prohibit the people from leaving the house, as I feared , but what they did is nearly the same for me: They prohibit us to go to the shore, the cops control the streets and beaches so that no day tourist can get through, and there is no end in sight,
Now I really feel locked up. I am so pissed , I live nearby my sea and are forbidden to be where I feel whole! I am so sad, angry, depressed

| so very very sorry for you Yeee. i've heard a lot of people are having to change or cancel vacation plans because of all this silly fear. but wow, to think they'd have POLICE guarding the areas! sheesh!
my boyfriend's not doing so great either, he probably feels a lot like you do. he just found out all his work is cancelled for the next month because of everything closing down out of fear.
i wish i could make a nice little saltwater pond for you to go swimming in instead!

| I am concerned, but my boss told me we were quite certain we would manage after this caos. I think she's right, she's an economy person. But I think many of my friends are concerned for their mental well being for being stuck with their family too long.
But I have to confess, I don't mind everything staying a little calm. Sure it affects my job, but the state has promised to cover much loss that will be. And youth being put to place and told 'no you can't' is actually good for many families. I hope I don't make people angry for saying this, but many needed a lesson with this. Like those rich people who are now forbidden to travel to their fancy cabins because they'll spread the virus and not to to their forth vacation this year because of the blocking. I just love it when people like that, who only care aboit themselves, get a smack like that.

I guess you and Yeee might be talking about different things or have different ideas in mind.
Indeed it will be hard for small enterprises if they get shut down for months, but still might have to pay bills. It's hard for parents who still are forced to work but have children in need of care (0 - 12 years maybe). There should be some unconditional basic income at least for the time, so people won't fall through "the net".

| "i wish i could make a nice little saltwater pond for you to go swimming in instead! " Yes, that would be nice, since our public swimming pool has closed. Consider me splashing and relaxing in your saltwater-pool " but wow, to think they'd have POLICE guarding the areas! sheesh!" I read that in the online newspaper (welt, Hamburg) . Ok I have not tested it out, but considering what is going on in this country it fits perfectly. I do not expect the "welt" to lie in this context. It may be, tomorrow we may test something out at the Baikal sea , if we can get access to that at last. We live between the seas and can drive to one of them with the car back and forth within a day. We are no rich people who travel around the world as we please , we are the people of the state Schleswig-Holstein at the shores and we are part of it with our souls. Beeing prohibited to come in touch of the sea hurts us. Me to the core. Call me nuts, I don`t care. Vaeri, say all good wishes from me to your friend. He's probably worried. Sure, no one knows what everything will look like in the future. The only good thing is that the big "shut down" is good for the climate. sigh! @Embala: Hugz back and good idea! I opened my wine too after reading your Contribution. @jaRf: Yup | |

| @ Yeee: Another creature from the land between the seas here. I can so understand you...
Em's visit here cancelled, holidays at Heligoland cancelled, and nobody knows for how long I still may have a walk in the woods. Even without considering the global impact of coronization it's depressing.

| I live down south, Stormarn. And no, haven't spent any money yet - the landlord knows me for years and never charges in advance. So I guess I'm luckier than those who are now trying to get their money back for cancelled holidays. ___________________________________________________ 「からだの傷ならなおせるけれど心のいたではいやせはしない」
