| You know this is not true, Elwing, do you? Not everyone is made for the "great good deads". We are not measured by the worth of our direct visible countable contribution to mankind. If so there would be a long row of "bad" people in front of you and me. And we cannot barter our life for a "more valuable" one anyway. It's just dull thoughts, Elwing. You are valuable. You count. Be well soon, tribe sister. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert. | |

| Elwing, Embala is right. Are these thoughts persistent?
We all do our part to make the world a better place, not by doing great deeds or giving great speeches or creating works of art and science. Sometimes all we need to do is smile, or listen, or open a door, or some other small act of kindness.
Today I read about a woman who walked into a café, just as the management was ejecting a homeless woman. The homeless woman called out to the other by name, and asked, "Can you buy me a sandwich?" The other women realized they were old friends, but the homeless woman had schizophrenia and had been on the streets for ten years. The customer went from being just a passer-by, to a potential lifeline.
I also read about a mosque that was vandalized in Austin, Texas USA. A 7-year-old boy heard about it from his mother. He gave the Imam twenty dollars, which was all the money he had in the world.
We all have a part in the miracle that is today. ___________________________________________________

| I'm wondering if there's really no 'what are you doing'-thread. I'm also wondering what's the name of the elf I'm drawing and why Merheen is messing around with wolfriders in the end era of what seems to be Rahnee's time. | |

| I spent an looong evening yesterday wondering things like "why am I here?" and "why can't I just exist without knowing at the same time that I exist and therefore spoiling every moment by thinking to much?". Then today I had a look at Sifra's silly stories and now all I'm wondering is when will she draw the next one? | |

| You can always ask them. And if not, see if you can get them to order it home for you, and start carrying Elfquest.
Where are you from, BTW? Saw you mentioning something about watching a Memorial Ceremony - for the Paris attacks - in Copenhagen. ___________________________________________________ "When you do what you love best, you shine where you love."Come play the Who Am I game!

| ^ Yeah... I kinda had a suspicion about that. You don't wanna be a bit more precise?
I'm pretty sure 40 years in elf counting is 40 years. However, to the Now of Wolf Thought it probably feels like an eternity ago. "What happened 40 years ago? I don't know that! I hardly remember what happened last week!" ___________________________________________________ "When you do what you love best, you shine where you love."Come play the Who Am I game!

| So the whole counting in eights isn't a thing anymore? Or was that something that was specific to the wolfriders? Do the Sunfolk count in actual years? 10's,20,30's? ___________________________________________________ 'We're all broken, in different ways, in varying degrees.'

| It would be logical that the elves count in eights - for the same reason with count in "tens". A most recent example from the Wolfriders: Ember is "Blood of Eight Chiefs and Three". All the elfin folks are so similar in speach and history. Even the different cultures are born more by outer circumstances than various philosophies. Why should a constant thing they do develop in different ways?
Of course ... if you need an contradicting example from the world of one moon: There was a time when counting in dozens was common for some folk. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

Sorry Babe and Embala- I missed your kind replies. Very persistent unfortunately, but much more manageable these days with therapy and meds. Don't worry, I'm fine

| ...there's no synonym for depowered? Is that even a word? 'Powerless' sounds wrong in the way I want to write. 'Disabled' is properly offensive? 'Inert treeshaper'? 'Run down'? 'Wrecked'? Hmm. Could work. Wish I find something that sounds more miserable. Edit: Of course I could just use 'miserable'. | |

| Hrm... what is considered normal waiting time for a book to arrive through Airmail from the states? I ordered one in September, it was sent the 15th, the ship date was the 24th and I received it November 20th...? - Shadowpath wrote:

| I think it is, if it is long enough? Tirades are really really long, so...
I'm wondering why I feel so sad. Only good things have hppened lately, I'm feeling decently prepared for exams, I'm doing better than I though on Nanowrimo, I'm not celebrating at ome, I'm going to England to celebrate Christmas. I'm wondering why I feel this deep boredom evrytime I have som time off, like today after seeing people a nanowrimo-meetup. If the month of writing tree essays at once broke me, if I'll ever stop feeling so agitated, like I can't relax when I have nothing to do. ___________________________________________________ Thanks to Embala for the lovely banner! | Urgh, I don't know, maybe I just need a break. Or ned to take a walk tomorrow, even work out if the weather is bad. Or go to the library to read something other than study related things. ___________________________________________________ Thanks to Embala for the lovely banner! The quote belongs to Scooter.

I'm wondering if the Palace actually landed on somebody. Not that savage abode humans need any reason for murdering anything. ___________________________________________________ 'We're all broken, in different ways, in varying degrees.'

| ... am I a weirdo for wanting a tea advent calendar instead of a chocolate one? I bought one yesterday as I really, really, really love tea and was looking forward to a surprise cup of tea every day until Christmas eve... but everyone else in the shop gave me extremely weird looks, even the cashier Seriously, older people than me demand ridiculously expensive chocolate calendars or calendar gifts Equal to a new mobile every. friggin. day. What's so wrong about tea? And it's English! | |

No you're not. Honestly, I don't get the deal with chocolate advent calendars; small pieces of chocolate that gets more and more unapetising and melty as it stays in the calendar for 24 days, no thanks! Tea, on the other hand; what a great way to be able to everyday spend some time just relaxing. Personally I have one with beauty-products, which isn't edible.___________________________________________________ "When you do what you love best, you shine where you love."Come play the Who Am I game!
