I never felt intimidated, but I did feel like expressing any negative opinion was put down. Like you couldn't like something and think critically at the same time. It's almost cult-like. Which is why I find twoedge4evers comment about being the chosen of Wendy so amusing.

But now...I am really surprised, even shocked about what is written about Richard Pini...he closed the old forum because he was angry about negative comments about EQ? Oh man, the Pinis are my idols since I was a child...how could this happen? :'(

I think it's weird to close a fan community THIS way and without warning? o_O

Anyway, I am still happy I found this forum because I have more time recently for my big hobby, ELFQUEST!

We don't know what were Richard Pini's true reasons. There was coincidence that easily leads to the speculations about this or that argument (on FB or on the forum itself) has caused the forum freeze. Last not least we don't know.

Personally I think that it was the plan for more than a year ... that the critical discussions maybe gave the last impulse or accelerated the final result just a bit. If it has a measurable influence at all. But this is my personal opinion as well.

The way it happened was ... surprising to word it nice ... shocking to quite a few of the members. Weird.

Hello Embala! Thank you for claryfiing the situation. Even though the reasons may not bei clear it IS weird to shut down a whole community like that indeed. I am just surprised, that's all. My first tought was the site was hacked or something! X)

interesting reading these dynamics i didn't notice on the old forums. and if anyone wants to call me creepy, go ahead! i can be exceedingly creepy when i open up completely, and disturbingly creepy when halloween rolls around. XD just mean it in the good way kay?:p

I for one am just glad this forum is here. I'll admit I did find the old Scrolls a bit stifling...I'd pretty much stopped posting there at all. Whoever it was that said they'd felt more and more disrespect for the fans...well, I'd felt that too.

Sometimes I miss not having a like button with so much so many have said.

I agree with this too, a fresh start is a good thing. I was just meaning... a copy to put somewhere.... like a computer file or a seperate web site that duplicated the posts so they aren't completely lost to cyberspace. I wasn't meaning post them here.

No it is retrievable, but will take a bit of work to salvage the important. I think PCoquelin got some of the art work saved. Maybe quite bit a saved until he was rather cross eyed.

*reads up after a few days away* LOL, Boing Boing. Used to be on my daily blog list but then I noticed that they are just Neatorama light. And I don't even read that any more. Stars rise and fall quickly on the internet.
