| I never felt intimidated, but I did feel like expressing any negative opinion was put down. Like you couldn't like something and think critically at the same time. It's almost cult-like. Which is why I find twoedge4evers comment about being the chosen of Wendy so amusing. | |

The last few weeks there I was downright afraid to click on a thread when I saw a post from Richard Pini, because I knew someone was getting chided for word choice or told "You can stop reading Elfquest if you don't like it!" It's so sad, when I think back to the time I got an email from him way back in like... 2003 and I was so excited that "OMG Elfpop noticed me!" How times have changed.
My bad! Thanks | |

| Hi, I am new here and thanks to Embala's link on the official site I found this forum. But now...I am really surprised, even shocked about what is written about Richard Pini...he closed the old forum because he was angry about negative comments about EQ? Oh man, the Pinis are my idols since I was a child...how could this happen? :'( I think it's weird to close a fan community THIS way and without warning? o_O Anyway, I am still happy I found this forum because I have more time recently for my big hobby, ELFQUEST! ___________________________________________________ If you see a Fairy Ring In a field of grass, Very lightly step around, Tip-Toe as you pass, Last night Fairies frolicked there And they're sleeping somewhere near. ~ | |

| We don't know what were Richard Pini's true reasons. There was coincidence that easily leads to the speculations about this or that argument (on FB or on the forum itself) has caused the forum freeze. Last not least we don't know. Personally I think that it was the plan for more than a year ... that the critical discussions maybe gave the last impulse or accelerated the final result just a bit. If it has a measurable influence at all. But this is my personal opinion as well. The way it happened was ... surprising to word it nice ... shocking to quite a few of the members. Weird. Welcome to the Father Tree Holt, Fairyring! Enjoy and have fun!___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert. | |

| Hello Embala! Thank you for claryfiing the situation. Even though the reasons may not bei clear it IS weird to shut down a whole community like that indeed. I am just surprised, that's all. My first tought was the site was hacked or something! X)

| could have sworn i posted something and now it seems to have disappeared...O.o...or perhaps i didn't post it...ah well.
interesting reading these dynamics i didn't notice on the old forums. and if anyone wants to call me creepy, go ahead! i can be exceedingly creepy when i open up completely, and disturbingly creepy when halloween rolls around. XD just mean it in the good way kay?:p
EDIT: oh there was my last post! silly me not looking through...XD ahah...and jeb, i'm so glad my comment helped convince you to repost your old stuff! really, your art and writing are just lovely <3

| Yes Jeb, definitely do repost your stuff!
I for one am just glad this forum is here. I'll admit I did find the old Scrolls a bit stifling...I'd pretty much stopped posting there at all. Whoever it was that said they'd felt more and more disrespect for the fans...well, I'd felt that too.

I agree. Credit where due. - Outlier wrote:
- I hate to lose all that was at the scroll, but I also think it'd be OK to start again. (But I'd love it if we could pull all the fabulous artists and writers that drew me into the scroll in the first place back, and attract some new ones as well.)
I agree with this too, a fresh start is a good thing. I was just meaning... a copy to put somewhere.... like a computer file or a seperate web site that duplicated the posts so they aren't completely lost to cyberspace. I wasn't meaning post them here. ___________________________________________________

| No it is retrievable, but will take a bit of work to salvage the important. I think PCoquelin got some of the art work saved. Maybe quite bit a saved until he was rather cross eyed. ___________________________________________________ Reese's, Kashmir's, and Tequila's mommy. | |

| Woooa, So many pages to read through if you leave for a couple of days But I see I got my answer about Rob, David and Heather, the reason I was wondering really was because they were mentioned a lot, and I started to think they "worked" for the Pini's and that was something I've should have known, and embarrassed to ask But thanks for the answers ( Both sides answers! ) And so great to see new faces ^^ ___________________________________________________ | |
