Silly Questions that Go Unanswered

Wolfriders: Too much fun to hunt and they lived with a wolf pack. Bond beasts ... but no pets at all and not going well with domestic animals?

Sunfolk: They had Zwoots  - closest to domestic animals as possible. Provides working power, milk and wool, possibly meat. Guess they breed them as well.

Gliders: Too messy and animals will not develop well within the mountain? And Gliders were not up to spend time outside BM.

Go-Backs: They have the deers - closer to domestic animals than bond beasts the way I see it. They were nomadic most of the time ... and then in a permanent war.

Wavedancers: No need perhaps having plenty of it around all the time?

Elves were surprisingly practical. While they may have pursued bodily functions for hobbies and entertainment, very few of them had much in the way of nick-knacks, curios, or collections. It makes sense that, if it wasnt an equal or held a purpose, it wasn't pursued. Shoot, they dont even get the point of good old fashioned gold! We trade "good, high quality Brightmetal knives and spearpoints" for their excess meat and they snap them up like candy. Ever wonder how metal smiths learn their trade? Practice. Lots of practice. Practice generates lots and lots of rejects. Trolls of the Wolfrider era hadn't gotten into recycling and whatnot, so it seemed only prudent to clear out some of our excess for their excess.... but I digress (and digest.... burp).

Anyway, with the exception of the decadence of the elitist, such as say a lone village healer (ever notice theres only like 4 huts in their village, one was Savah's, one was Leetah's, leaving like 2 huts for a couple of dozen other tribes-mates?), few had much reason to look beyond basic necessities, especially extra mouths to feed.

Besides, you also should consider:
-The Wolfriders would have eaten their 'pets' at the first sign of limited game.
-The Gliders had pets, they called them humans.
-Leetah is a flesh-shaper, just like Winnie... that "cat" could have been anything: a skunk, a snake, a bird, the occasional tribe's youngling that pestered her too much...

Seriously ... there are pets then and now...
The Sunvillagers had cats, lizards and some sort of tiny dogs.
The Gliders had small pretty birds, too (I remember Dewshine or Leetah with one).
And young Tyleet was shown with a ferret once.

Question of the day: Who or WHAT is slapping Embala? And why is it slapping her in phases?  News at 11.

Regardless of who or what is slapping her, will her friends assemble a team to deal with this threat before it spreads to other members of the site, or is it already too late? *finds self slapping self in the face*

Or will the team find defeat in an epic face-palm?

A lot of elves joined the "wearing a piece of the palace"-hype. Those pieces don't look that secured to me, does this mean there are fragments of the palace scattered all over Abode? And does Ember's tribe sometimes call the palace just for a new supply of shinies? (Calling the palace in need? Heck no! But for pretty gems...).

The fallen gems are by no means "scattered" all over abode... the masters of gem finding collected them, and now half are in Oddbit's boodle chest, and the other half are in Trinket's boodle chest.

There is some speculation that if both caches of palace gems were in the same place at the same time, there would be enough palace material for a story of its own, however, think how hard it would be to pry either treasure trove from one or the other, especially with names such as Oddbit and Trinket... and having Picknose (vanquisher of Kingdoms) (as well as Misplacer of Kingdoms) (he really should just get into business startups. Hes really good at that) guarding them.

Maybe pieces of the Palace are like relics of the True Cross - enough alleged pieces to build a high-rise building.

The high ones sucked at surviving (otherwise Timmain wouldn't have to transform into a wolf), so what did Haken live on, when he spent his time next to rotting crewmembers after the crash?

...maybe he lived on rotting crewmembers? Horrible thought... but it's Haken.

Maybe they had an expresso machine and a microwave in the Palace kitchen.... they were travelling through space for several years, after all, so I'm sure they had a refrigerator or something to store the food they needed for journey when they weren't in wrapstuff?

Or maybe they ate the wrapstuff

Maybe they had some sort of indoor garden in the Palace.

I like the kitchen idea They should greet people with a cup of coffee when they get out of wrapstuff

Who needs a refridgerator... when you have wrapstuff? 

The coffee I'd appreciate, but my first concern would be directions to the lavatory.

Lavatory? Drop it like treewees do from the trees - the Palace will absorb it.

Are there actually rooms in the Palace to live and work and relax and sleep ... or go the Palace Dwellers in a stasis alkoven like the Borg?

Well, we know there's a store room for fabrics and leathers somewhere. The Palace is rather big, so I'd be surprised if there weren't any ordinary rooms.
There's also the bedroom Sunstream and Brill used after their Recognition.

Yep, remember the storage ... but not working rooms or private rooms. I know *sigh* that's not exactly a topic for "silly questions" but more likely for the general "what I miss to see in the FQ".

That's a side story I'd like to see! One day, while dreamily contemplating whatever it is they contemplate, the evolving former Sun Villagers encounter a new room-- one with an everlasting fire and piles of suspiciously sticky furs scattered all over...

Who was the taste-tester while the Palace Dwellers experimented with making food from the elements? I have this image of the Baker going off a la Arthur Dent and tea about how Attempt #4 is exactly not like bread.
