Well I tried to re-register to pull a poem that was in the TnL cantina.  Probably used the wrong email add.  So now I am stuck now with no way to pull it.  Any suggestions?

Btw I hate the new set up.  I miss the old forum and all the craziness and friends as well.  What a why to kill off the thing you love the most.

Well Hello Mrs Grizzley.  Glad to see you amongst the gang.

Trollhammer, if you can get into the old site and go to the legacy section.  You will have to go page by page to find a small section from the TnL Cantina that is mostly poetry.  I think I only have one poem, but there maybe two.  If you can find them, let me know.  I want to post them here.

Yes keep reading the story. It is a good one. Although the creators destroyed their own forum.

Thanks, G0lden. Still adjusting to things. The group on Facebook is going nuts trying to adjust to stuff and I'm... well, I think I'm just joining everything ElfQuest related on the hope of staying in contact with people. Everything that means anything to me leads back to Elfquest and being online.

Well we are a tight knit group with room to grow.

I personally am not into FB and liked the forum before it changed last year. This latest change has done me in.

I almost hate to say it, but I've thought for some time that the Pinis are a bit dickish. That's partly why I haven't been posting much in recent times but of course I couldn't say that on the scroll. I've been reading though, and Richard's spat with Lunakat was the final straw for me...it was just so petulant and pathetic. And then just days later the Scroll gets frozen...quelle surprise.

I *wouldn't* be on Facebook at all if it weren't for a certain Parting of the Waters that happened last November that allowed me fairly secure access to my account without worrying that someone else was going to be able to get into it.

As it is, this caught *everyone* by surprise. I'll admit that I wasn't as active of late as usual because my new tablet (whee!!) isn't able to use the graphics program I'd gotten used to using, so I wasn't able to make dollz anymore... but still. I checked it regularly.

Glad that there are others here, too.

Well, I  just figured something out.  For those who want to retrieve stuff.  I managed to work my way to the old site and was able to find what I wanted.  If it is written work just copy and paste.  If is art work you may be able to retrieve the info, but hopefully you have saved copies to share here on this site.

Richard is dead to me.

My Elfquest friends are here. That suffices. Eyes forward.

What is it with Richard Pini anyway? Some sort of control issue? This is not the first time he has deliberately antagonized his inner circle of fans. I'm not even sure I want to stay in this fandom. I feel betrayed, and I don't need this type of negativity in my life. And also, I have plenty of other interests. Maybe I should just forget about this, stop buying the books and move on to something else.

Those who were on the 'Masque of the Red Death' forums probably know that it's not just Richard... Wendy has her dark side, too.

I still love ElfQuest. But my love isn't as blind as it used to be.

I love the way Elfquest used to be. And if I'm honest, I was only buying the new stuff for nostalgia's sake. And Richard is right, there is no room for nostalgia anymore so I won't waste another penny on it. Hope they didn't need the income they just lost by alienating most of their fans

There's an awful lot of fans who were never on the Scroll so wouldn't care about what's happened. We were a pretty small bunch on there, actually. And I get the feeling the Pinis are arrogant enough to not care about losing a few die hard fans.

I agree, and had that impression of them a while back.

...of course... I think it would be ironic if the "Now of Wolf Thought" turned and bit them in the tail if die hard fans ended up forgetting them as fast as a wolf forgets the rabbit he just ate. Whats it take to howl for a chief? A storyteller and ripe dreamberries? We have storytellers.... but no dreamberries!

That's one thing I wondered about from the beginning. This was a good looking and professional forum that took time and effort to set up, serving a fanbase that is probably not huge, but those who are into it tend to very into it. And yet it got so little use. I guess I got my answers.

I really don't understand this change.

The forums were fine: the setup wasn't as easy to use as PowerBoards or similar forums, but you could see the active threads, and there were plenty of threads to skim and participate in.

I don't like the idea of being led around by the hand by the creators on what's supposedly a forum for fans. Why not have both -- have a section for topics specifically posted by Warp and leave the rest alone?

I sympathize with whomever made all those emotes -- now gone.

I wonder if this will affect the amount of listeners the Podcast gets? I only checked it when I saw it bumped in the Scroll.

And there goes my intended "Prurient Ponderings" thread.

PostSubject: hello friends   So they've basically killed the Scroll of Colors forum... - Page 2 EmptyWed Mar 25, 2015 1:57 pm

I am very sad about the loss of the old forums being hosted on EQ for the one reason that it was not splintered but was a more inclusive place in general just because it was official.

I wasn't active in most of the social threads, prefering to try to
interact more with fanart and the occasional dabble in fan fiction
too. I got addicted to making Elfquest based dollz and kept that
thread an active part of my life whenever possible. I adored
having folks visit that thread, see dollz and make their own to share. Posting/commenting on the dollz others made was always GREAT too.

I am not sure I feel the same zest now that the one place I knew
might get seen by lots of fellow fans has been killed off.

I don't know if the EQ dollz fans are willing, able or interested, but
where we remeet hasn't been firmly established. I know we can now likely pick from a few forums that exist, here perhaps included?
I won't just open a dollz thread here unless the admin here really wants it here. I got the feeling from the main official forum that
our dollz really were only a fad that Richard noticed once and then
forgot or maybe even came to actively dislike.

I know it isn't the same as art from scratch. I know it is derivitive
and complicated with copyright issues. Maybe it is time for me
to try to wean myself from the habit?

If I had actual art from scratch talent I would do that more...but
I am a realist and know my efforts in that area will always be
poor products.

I know also that some folks thought I made lots of rules for the dollz thread. I tried just to keep it on topic. Dolls (and comments about same) of Elves or Trolls or wolves or hell even zwoots were all I wanted to see and share.

Maybe the forum closing is making me feel needlessly defensive
of my passion for this form of internet subculture?

I am just unsure of where/if/how to proceed. Anyone here have
any opinions on my issue?

To be sure I don't have the time or desire to role play. It requires
more steady access and interaction than I have available as well as
just not being my best fan activity. I don't want anyone to be mislead because I joined this forum that I can regularly do Holt style stuff.

I would like to continue to offer my "talent" to make EQ dollz for
other people's characters. I always loved trying to make new images (with starter art) based on descriptions or other art.

Tynami has a forum at
http://elvenholt.twilightlegend.net and I was thinking that might
be the new home for EQ dollz. I still haven't heard from her yet.

So... ? *shrug*

--Nightsea
PS: I don't like the facebook thing because I don't want to twine
my real name with my fan stuff so I'm not in the official group or any other there.

PPS: I hope the emoticons can maybe live here. If not in the official selections, don't forget we can all just paste in image code!

I just wanted to say again, with all the newcomers finding their way here.... please feel free to share anything here. This forum has the same freedom as the old Scrolls. You may share anything here as you did there. All forms of discussions, stories, art, etc etc etc. The Scrolls were meant to feel like a *home* and although this will never be the original Scrolls forum, think of it Like the next Holt the Wolfriders dwelled in and made a home.

Hopefully someday the Scrolls will reopen. But if not the same ensemble of family and community is meant to be found here.

By the way.... the emoticons that WWW made for the Scrolls may be also installed here. I can always try to add them to the current emoticons to the site if you all would like to do so.

Tynami has made a new thread on her forum for the official home of EQ dollz.   Since her forum is more designed around that particular fandom of dollz I will post my creations there.  I always want a wide
audience and hope folks from this forum will look in over there.

I appreciate the warm invitation here also.

Here's my personal smiley doll saying thank you:

Another doll-maker here. Jeedai and I are hoping to find a place on EQFA to post things, though I may share here from time to time, and perhaps on Tynami's forum, if it gets off the ground.

I hope you will go on dolling, Nightsea! It's your passion, your creativity, your way to express yourself as an artist.

I will try to be active one both forums. Well - I will for sure! Just don't know with what intensity ...

Maybe we can link to each others forum?

Ive looked at several forums and all of them have something different going for them. This is a lovely thing, but for me, I'm not sure if it is practical for me to visit and post on several different forums. it would be wonderful if some sort of agreement could be reached, and all these forums would be connected somehow, so that fans have a central place to go now that the SOC is gone?

That's exactly the problem I'm having. :/ I just don't know if people who are attached to a particular forum are willing to give that up to go elsewhere.

I'll be honest, I'm predisposed to coming here because of Kinzy. *shy wave* And because it's at least a format I'm somewhat familiar with.

I had an account on EQFA *ages* ago but I don't know if it still exists or what my password was for it or even what *email* I'd associated it with. A lot of that information is written down on scraps of paper hidden *everywhere* and my lists aren't exactly comprehensive.

Add to that various Real Life Issues going on and... well, this was NOT the time for the Pinis to pull this crap on me, right when I'm NEEDING the stability of the Tribe, ya know?
