| Temporarily, they could link back to the old SoC and the who's who of the official site. However, there is no way to garantee either of these wont change once or twice a year or get wiped without notice. Something that has been festering in the back of my head while researching the Trolls is how muddled everyone's ages are. This is important to me for two reasons: the question of how long a wolfrider should expect to live (to old age/natural death), and how long each of the Trolls have lived. It gets mucked up with time travel and stasis, though. I havent looked at the old threads in a while, and only remember "deceased" or not in the bios. Is there indeed a listing of ages somewhere or does that need to start from scratch? Also, @Embala: I may or may not have a longer list than yours, do you want me to dig it out and send it to you? ___________________________________________________ | |

Also, @Embala: I may or may not have a longer list than yours, do you want me to dig it out and send it to you? Frankly - that's what I plan to do for a start. - look up the existing threads on the old Scroll - open them here - preferably with the old headlines to honor the original posters - link to the frozen thread ... and to the bios as far as available I share your concerns about the continuity of the links and survival of the original threads, Hammer. Don't know a better beginning to get ALL of them opened in forseeable time. - Redhead Ember wrote:

As tempting as it is to have help with reviving the character threads ... tribemates "making as many threads as possible" would not serve the hidden agenda, right? ... I would still not have a post in these threads. And I refuse to comment to each one with "Hi there [insert character name here]!" XD BUT - everyone who REALLY wished to open a thread for a character - favorite one? curious about him/her? start a discussion? - GO FOR IT! (Maybe give me a chance to contribute something sensible in an easy way, will you? ... hint hint Easter Egg Quest ... hinthint ... ^^ - TrollHammer wrote:
Also, @Embala: I may or may not have a longer list than yours, do you want me to dig it out and send it to you? It's always interesting to gather and compare knowledge, Hammer. The threads I'll need first will be those about "visible" characters, tho ... at least 99% of them. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| Oh... I just figured that we were gonna have to pretty much start over with the threads anyway. Can't really use the old ones other than as links to them in the new. Unless you are going to copy-paste every comment in the old threads into the new. However, there is one character I know for a fact doesn't have a thread yet. ___________________________________________________ "When you do what you love best, you shine where you love."Come play the Who Am I game! | |

You are right, Redhead , and I'm not the one to tell you - or anyone else - that you are not allowed to do this or that. Or to tell how things must be done "right". All I can tell is that "posting as many as possible" will not help much for a special purpose ^^ ... - Redhead Ember wrote:

Link to the original threads is what I plan to do with most of the threads for a start. Quoting (every) single post would be rather unrealistic. Besides I don't even know whether this would be allowed according to the netiquette. - Redhead Ember wrote:

Just go for it and open those threads you really want to make, Redhead. - TrollHammer wrote:

I havent looked at the old threads in a while, and only remember "deceased" or not in the bios. Is there indeed a listing of ages somewhere or does that need to start from scratch? The timeline you found is the best help ... it's as official as we will get and was commonly acknowledged for some decades. The Wolfrider Guide might close some gaps and give information at less central characters - at least in relation to other characters. Of course there are inconsitencies with this or that single issue ... I've made some "corrections" for myself. You will never find "the one right listing" for each case. Sadly there is not much age information about Trolls. A Wolfrider's life ... I had some thoughts about this. I remember from a discussion that a Wolfrider's life will last 2,500 to 3,500 years before it reaches its natural end. I'd say it depends on the inherited amount of wolf blood. A more elflike individual can live longer than a wolfish throwback. Look at the years counted by corn in the Sunvilage. The pot gathered by Woodlock/Wing is much smaller than the one gathered by the Sunfolk after their death. That one is about three times bigger. 10,000 years altogether ... would make 2,500 to 3,000 years for Wing. Does this help? As far as I understand it nothing is set in stone ... you'll need to do the fine-tuning by yourself. What's not contradicted by the story itself or Wendy's & Richard's word is possible. ^^ ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| Would it be acceptable for Trollbabe and I ( and anyone else who wants to) to "make up" a more specific timeline for the Trolls as well as ages (birth/death) for them? I have an agenda on this, so I have been holding back since I dont want to be selfish with it. ___________________________________________________ | |

| What if someone other than you started the new thread and posted the link(s)?
Also, something I realised regarding the whole quoting every post thing; If you did that it would mean that you would be the poster of every single post in a thread, which would mean that your easter eggs could be everywhere.
That is your sneaky plan with this, right? Having several character threads ready for the next EEQ. ___________________________________________________ "When you do what you love best, you shine where you love."Come play the Who Am I game!

| Muahahaha! 1. In that case I'll have to think about some other sensible post. 2. Don't worry ... I'd need to work 24/7 from now to get this done. ^^ 3. That's the plan indeed for EasterEggQuest. I want to have many threads with at least one post ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| I meant something like: Character name: Race: Tribe: Abilities: Lifemates/lovemates: (More standard info)
To which I would add (if there is such a thing): Birth year relative to crash: Death year relative to crash (if applicable): Number of years asleep (if applicable): Age as of Final Quest prologue (active years): Status as of Final Quest prologue: (Final Quest prologue or "crash" could be replaced with any well known and fixed event)
This makes it still hard in some cases (I dont know exactly when many of the Trolls were born), and some might be subjective estimates, but as part of an EQ archeology project, estimates work. ___________________________________________________

| I've started to link to character threads. Those threads mostly link to the corresponding character threads on the Frozen Scroll and to the character bios on EQ.com. LOTS of links.
In case anyone stumbles upon misfit links please let me know. It will be fixed asap. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| This (re)starting character threads business made me realise/remember just how many characters there are. And how slightly obsessed we are; what with the fact that we had a several pages long thread for a character who has never been seen, never named, and mentioned a couple of times at the most... ___________________________________________________ "When you do what you love best, you shine where you love."Come play the Who Am I game! | |

And there are even more! The Wolfriders from ancient times are not covered by far! Not to mention the Humans from the Forevergreen Co. ... not that I long to include them ALL. ^^ - Quote :

I think there's a reason why those unnamed or even faceless characters are so capturing. They are really existing in the EQ universe at some point, even have a family context ... but as there is known next to nothing about them they can be everything they can be everything a fan can dream up. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| My work on the character threads is done for the moment. I will wait with the Wavedancer threads and Troll threads at least until the new year. I hope @ChristinaRaibert, @TrollHammer and @Trollbabe will find time and mood to open threads for their appreciated characters in a way that gives them true love. Besides this I plan to add threads where we can gather what's known in general about the different tribes. Another thread about Abode, the kontinents and planetary system. Should I add two more threads about the fauna and flora of Abode? Opinions welcome! ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

| Very good work, Embala dear.
Maybe it's time to have a COMMON reflexion on how to get farther.
I would suggest : . a simple ID form that would summarize the main (known) info for each and every character . a gathering of the most significant pictures of the character . in a few lines : special notes, strange and unknown elements, reason(s) to doubt their death, etc.
A simple gathering of facts and related hypothesis. No need to hurry, now.
I tried and BEGIN to assemble it all, somehow, for Suntop/Sunstream, but I'm ready to revise and complete it all, IF and WHEN we all agree on something. ___________________________________________________

| You mean something like this: - Multimedea wrote:
- Cutter -- (Tam) / Male / Mortal, living / 11th Chief of the Wolfrider tribe / Son of Bearclaw & Joyleaf / Lifemate of Leetah / Father of Ember, Sunstream / Adoptive father of Shuna / Recognized to Skywise / Fantasy Quarterly # 1 (1978)
I've also made a document with info for pretty much every character. It's build like this: - I wrote:
- Cutter (m)
Alive – mortal *Tam* Son of Bearclaw and Joyleaf Grandson of Mantricker and Thornflower Recognized lifemate of Leetah Father of Sunstream and Ember Adoptive father of Shuna Grandfather of Korafay Adoptive grandfather of Shukopek Nephew of Treestump Cousin of Dewshine Soulbrother of Skywise Lovemate of Nightfall and Redlance
Might be a bit long, though... ___________________________________________________ "When you do what you love best, you shine where you love."Come play the Who Am I game!

First of all I need to make a correction. This line was supposed to be "I hope @ChristinaRaibert, @TrollHammer and @Trollbabe and anyone else ..." The character threads are not my pet project and I don't make rules for it. There's a special reason why I was so eager to revive them ... they are essential for the Easter EggQuest I plan to continue here. Some of you might have guessed ... PCoquelin encouraged a common reflection ... that common effort and the contributions by all our members who cared for one character or the other was what I've loved about the threads on the original Scroll. So please when you feel like it help to revive the character dedicated section of our Scroll of Colors. The technical approch I've used is only a start. The Elves and Trolls and all the other cast and critters long for fan love ... ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

I think there was a discussion about this subject in another thread, and to me it seems we should nail down certain aspects of Abode (throwing some observation>>astrophysics at it, if we can agree what is 'character interpretation' and what is 'fact' in observations.) Is the thread up somewhere? ___________________________________________________

Of course I'd prefer when the threads will be filled with actual information. Same for the special notes and such ... hopefully there'll be many contributions and discussions. I'm all for pictures! I will drop pictures for sure and count on others to do the same. You did an awesome job with Suntop's thread, PC. I suggest you go on with your favorite characters. It's a win! I've included the link to Multimedea's thread in my first post, Redhead. We should not raid Medea's thread but own summaries would be nice. I like your document for Cutter ... it's so YOU! Last time I've checked you need to add 4 great-grandchildren and their mother, tho. ^^ I see you already have opened a thread for Abode itself, Hammer. I'll add it to the listing asap. ___________________________________________________ Indem du etwas tust, das dir oder jemand anderem gefällt, erschaffst du bereits einen Wert.

Well... for us hunters' perspective it would be pretty smart if we don't get the threads too full before that time, making the hunt somewhat easier. Though, knowing you, you'd probably come up with some way of making it tricky anyway. - Embala wrote:

I made a choice not to go beyond grandparents/grandchildren. Otherwise it would've been really big. ___________________________________________________ "When you do what you love best, you shine where you love."Come play the Who Am I game!
